By public transportation
Buses 11 and 12 regularly leave from Utrecht central train station (CS) for De Uithof and UMC Utrecht.
Line 12’s final stop is Utrecht University Hospital (AZU); it does not stop at Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital
(WKZ). Line 11’s final stop is WKZ; it also stops at AZU. At the AZU bus stop, passengers on line 12 can
change to line 11 to go to WKZ.
The Sanquin Blood Bank (‘Bloedbank Sanquin’) and the Ronald McDonald House are within walking
distance of WKZ.
For the Central Military Hospital (CMH), you can get off the bus at the AZU. The CMH can be reached
through the AZU main entrance.

For visitors to AZU and WKZ:
When you arrive at the parking garage barrier,
take a ticket from the ticket machine.
Before you return to your car, you can pay
at the special machines for this purpose, located
outside the main entrance of the AZU.
Because Utrecht municipality has only a limited
number of parking places available, we advise
employees and visitors
to use public transportation as much as possible.

Blood donors can park their cars and bicycles free
of charge near the main entrance to the blood
bank. Unauthorized cars will have their wheels
clamped. Visitors can park in the WKZ parking lot.

Coming from the highway, turn left at the traffic lights at the end of the exit. This is the
Universiteitsweg. From here you can follow the signs to your destination:
- Emergency Care (‘Spoedeisende Hulp;’ for both Utrecht University Hospital ‘AZU’ and
Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital ‘WKZ’),
- H-WKZ (Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital),
- H-CMH (Central Military Hospital),
- H-AZU (Utrecht University Hospital), or
- the blood bank (‘Bloedbank’).
Follow H-AZU for the Stratenum, and follow H-CMH for the Ronald McDonald House.

Follow the signs for Amersfoort. At the Eemnes interchange, go towards Utrecht (A27). At the
Rijnsweerd interchange, go towards Amersfoort (A28). Then follow the signs for De Uithof/H-UMC
