How to set up your iPhone to receive SGfL mail
If you have more than one email address you can use your iPhone to receive mail from your
different email accounts.
It is recommended that you set up your SGfL account on your iPhone using IMAP. This will mean
you will receive email as soon as your email server receives it and your SGfL mail boxes on your
iPhone and the server will be synchronised. With IMAP, wherever you access your email, changes
are reflected everywhere. So, if you update something in Easymail Plus directly or using an email
client (such as Outlook), within a very short time your iPhone will show the same changes (and
vice versa).
If this is the first account you're setting up on the iPhone tap Mail. Otherwise, from the Home
screen choose Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Accounts and choose Add
Account.
In this screen you need to choose your email
account type.
For SGfL mail choose Other
Select IMAP.
Enter your name in the "Name" field, your full
email address (username@sgfl.org.uk) in
the "Address" field and a description for the
account in the "Description" field.
Further down, input the settings for the
Incoming Mail Server: enter mail.sgfl.org.uk
in the "Host Name" field, enter your full email
address (username@sgfl.org.uk) in the
"User Name" field and enter your SGfL email
password in the "Password" field.
Scroll down and input the settings for the
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
Enter mail.sgfl.org.uk in the "Host Name"
field.
Enter your full email address
(username@sgfl.org.uk) in the "User
Name" field and your SGfL password in the
"Password" field.
Press Save at the top right hand side of the
screen.
Mail will then check your mail settings. It will verify your settings and add the email account.
Now when you press Mail it will take you to your mail account.
