How to make VagCom 409 cable to work like INPA/DIS interface 1. This is the picture of VagCom 409 open interface , it very cheap from China’s sellers , FTDI chip inside is FT232BL 2. If you have that chip FT232BL FTDI , you must bridge pin 7 and 8 ( if your device don’t have pin on place to pin 8 you must get one free pin and replace the places) a. You must get one simple NPN transistor and connect Base NPN to OBDII pin 1 cable via 10k- 0.25W resistor b. Black cable from USB you must connect to Emitter NPN or OBDII pin 4 c. Red cable from USB you must connect to Collector NPN via 4k7- 0.25W resistor d. From 20 pin on FTDI chip you must solder cable to Collector NPN and bridge pin’s 17 and 18 on chip These few steps make your VagCom 409 interface work with INPA/DIS software That you can make if you have FTDI 232 BL chip inside your VAGCom , BUT if you have FTDI 232 RL chip inside you must follow the next few steps See next page……………………………………….. If you have FTDI 232 RL chip inside your device which look like this: You have two options: 1. Cable only for diagnostic –not possible to program with INPA/ DIS software Hardware : You must bridge pin 7 and 8 on OBDII ( if your device don’t have pin on place to pin 8 you must get one free pin and replace the places) Software: You must get Mprog program – from here it’s free downloaded – then you must replace RI# and DSR# signals with MProg ( it’s easy to work with it) Note: The disadvantages are that the cable detects that the car is constantly in contact (even if it is not), this flaw makes it unfit for coding, because the confirmation of the function you want to encrypt a DIS should be excluded and included contact 2. Fully functional cable To have a fully functional cable (coding and diagnostic DIS), it must be overhauled in order to detect whether the car is of contact. Hardware: a.
