Appendix 4 – HOW TO DO A BUSINESS LAUNCH How to Do a Business Launch Invitations About two weeks in advance. Always invite verbally – either in person or on the telephone. Don’t forget to ask if they want to bring someone with them – friend, relative etc. follow up with a written invitation if you wish. (sample Invitation layouts are available at www.flpuk.info). Print in colour, on good quality card. Make a reminder call one or two days before – people have busy lives and may forget to turn up. Say you are checking on finally umbers for catering etc., really looking forward to seeing them, going to be an interesting evening etc, etc. Invite AT LEAST twice the number you would like to attend, don’t worry about lack of space, the most atmospheric launches are often when people are crammed in! For any guests who can’t make the first date, offer them the second date. If people cannot make either of the dates on offer, arrange to do a one-to-one combi show over a cup of coffee. At the very least arrange to send appropriate literature. Catering Don’t go to town on the catering. People who may have an interest in the Business Opportunity may think they will have to do the same. Keep it simple, perhaps a glass of wine or soft drink on arrival and no more than nibbles and drinks afterwards so as not to distract from trying the products and placing their orders. Be Prepared – Checklist – Combi/Fast Start pack Aloe plant (if you have one), simple table cloth, Receipt pad prepared with your won details, address labels on bottles, tubes and boxes, Drinks’ Information Pad, Product Brochures, Customer Order Forms, Dr peter Atherton Flyer, FLP Flyers, calculator, small change, pens, press cuttings, FLP carrier bags, (NEVER old supermarket bags!). also have some DVDs available as well as Dr Peter Atherton’s ‘Little Book Of Aloe’ to vie to guests who show a keen interest. Unplug the telephone, no babies, n pets. Have spare products available (perhaps borrow from your sponsor). Take money with any order to be supplied later. Before the Presentation Ask the hostess or any likely special interest. Chat with the guests as they arrive to establish any areas of interest and also to see if there are any sensitive areas best left aside. The Presentation If your sponsor is going your launch for you, prepare an introduction for them in advance. (see Appendix 4.1) It’s most important that your guests realise that this launch is for your benefit and that you have high goals and aspirations for your business. Make it very clear that the business is important to you and that you value their support. They are your friends, they will want to help you and be flattered that you have asked them. This is a fun event, but it must also be businesslike. Always Use Prompt Cards This does help you to remember key points, but the main reason is to make it look simple and duplicable. The aim is to make people in the room believe it’s fun and something they could learn to do, which is why we always stress the training and support aspect of the company. Keep your presentation to about 45 minutes. Give a Brief Introduction to the History and Stature of FLP Spend 15 minutes explaining the special benefits of the FLP Aloe drinks and then 15 – 30 minutes overview of the selection of the other key products. Finally return briefly to the drinks. You could also have a Fleur do Jouvence Collection and a Sonya Pallet on display to generate interest.
