Security used on your GT724WG
MTS Wireless DSL Modem
We’ll review the easy steps on how to change the type of
wireless security used on your GT724WG Wireless DSL Modem,
manufactured by Actiontec Electronics.

On any computer that is connected
to the Modem, type http://192.168.100.254 in the web browser
window and then press Enter.

Step
Enter the default User Name and Password.
User Name=admin, Password=(the last 6
letters/numbers of your MAC address)

The main screen appears. Click the
Wireless Setup icon in the top bar.

Click OK.

Click Reboot.Wait for the Modem to
reboot and check to make sure that the Power, DSL, and Internet
lights become solid green.
Step
Click “Advanced Settings” in the left
hand menu.
Congratulations! You have successfully changed the wireless
security used on the GT724WG MTS Wireless DSL Modem.

Step
Click the button next to WEP.

Step
Enter a new key or password.The key
must be 10 characters long. If you selected 128/108 bit, your key must be 26 characters long. All characters must be hexidecimal, i.e A-F or 0-9. Make sure and write this
information down. Now click “Apply”.
