Marc Furman is the Chair of the Labor & Employment Group, a Partner and a member of the Executive Committee at Cohen Seglias
Pallas Greenhall & Furman, PC. For 30 years, Mr. Furman has limited his practice to providing representation and counsel to both
union and non-union employers throughout the United States in all aspects of labor and employment law. His clients span a broad
range of industries, including manufacturing, hotel and hospitality, automotive, telecommunications, medical providers, food processing
and distribution, and financial services. Mr. Furman is particularly focused on representing construction companies in matters involving
unions, picketing and prevailing wage situations. He is active in the New Jersey and Southeast Pennsylvania Chapters of Associated
Builders & Contractors, and has served as Chapter Labor Counsel for the New Jersey Chapter for over twenty five years.
Mr. Furman has successfully handled hundreds of matters before the National Labor Relations Board, including representation and
decertification election petitions, and unfair labor practice charge cases. He has negotiated scores of collective bargaining agreements,
and frequently handles labor arbitrations. In addition, he regularly works with non-union companies to develop legal and appropriate
union avoidance campaigns.
Mr. Furman counsels and defends employers in employment discrimination lawsuits in federal and state court, and before
administrative agencies such as the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Pennsylvania Human Relations
Commission, and Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations. He has defended employers in cases alleging unlawful retaliation and
discrimination on the basis of sex, race, national origin, religion, age, and disability. He also provides counsel regarding employmentrelated litigation matters involving non-competition agreements, prevailing wage and general wage and hour compliance matters.
In addition, Mr. Furman provides day-to-day counseling to his clients on human resources matters such as hiring and firing, drug
testing, workplace investigations, and family and medical leave. He frequently lectures about these and other labor and employment
law topics to other attorneys, employers and industry associations. For 10 years, Mr. Furman served as an adjunct assistant professor
of law at The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University, teaching an advanced labor practice course.
Mr. Furman was a senior partner at Rothenberg Silverman & Furman PC, where he practiced management-side labor and employment
law exclusively, until that firm merged with Cohen Seglias in 2002.
He is also a member of the Philadelphia, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations and their respective Labor Law
Committees and Sections.
Mr. Furman's biography can be found in several invitational domestic listings. He has received an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell
and was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the field of Labor Law by Law & Politics in its inaugural (2004), 2005, 2006, 2007 and
2008 listings. He was also named to the list of Top One Hundred Labor Attorneys in the United States for 2006 and 2007, as compiled
by Labor Relations Institute, a leading industry information source.
Away from the office, Mr. Furman is presently serving as Secretary of Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, where, for more than
twenty years, he has held Officer, Trustee, and Senior Trustee positions. Other interests include being an avid cyclist, volunteering at
major classic car concurs events and national cycling races and championships, being a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, and spending
time with his family.
Mr. Furman is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania as well as the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the US Third Circuit Court of
Appeals, and the US Supreme Court.

Eric Kimbel is Senior Counsel in the Construction Group at Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman, PC and
divides his time between the Firm’s Pittsburgh and Morgantown offices. Mr. Kimbel focuses his practice on
construction litigation, arbitration and mediation, representing subcontractors, contractors, design-builders and
construction managers on both public and private projects. He has served as counsel in complex construction
cases involving project delays, disruptions and inefficiencies, and has vast experience in prosecuting and
defending mechanics’ liens, bond claims and payment claim matters. Mr. Kimbel also negotiates and drafts
construction contracts of all types, but primarily focuses on negotiating and drafting subcontract agreements.
While in law school, Mr. Kimbel was Managing Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Journal of Law and
Commerce. He also studied at the St. Petersburg Law Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia and clerked with the
Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board during law school.
Mr. Kimbel is an avid speaker and writer on numerous issues related to the construction industry. He is an
active member of the National Electrical Contractors Association, the Constructors Association of Western
Pennsylvania, and the Master Builders Association. Mr. Kimbel has been admitted pro hac vice to practice in
the state courts of Illinois, New York, Maryland, Ohio and Virginia, as well as the United States District Courts
for Massachusetts and for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Jonathan Landesman is a Partner in the Labor & Employment Group at Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman, PC. He joined the
Firm in 2002 and was elected to the partnership in 2008.
Mr. Landesman specializes in employment litigation at the trial and appellate levels. He represents employers in all types of
employment-related cases, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims; wage and hour actions; and suits under the
Family and Medical Leave Act. Mr. Landesman has extensive experience litigating injunction and damage actions involving noncompetition and non-solicitation agreements, employee defections, and trade secrets.
In addition, he devotes a significant amount of time to conducting collective bargaining negotiations and representing employers in
traditional labor law matters. Mr. Landesman has handled arbitrations challenging terminations, mass layoffs, and subcontracting, as
well as complex contract interpretation cases. He also provides representation to employers facing union organizing, picketing, and
work stoppages.
Mr. Landesman regularly counsels clients on workplace issues such as implementing employee terminations, accommodating disabled
employees in accordance with the FMLA and ADA, and ensuring wage and hour compliance. He prepares employee handbooks, drug
and alcohol policies, employment and non-compete contracts, and severance agreements.

Obtained a permanent injunction and compensatory damages in a non-competition case following a week-long trial in a
Pennsylvania state court;
Successfully tried an arbitration case for a publicly traded company involving the transfer of bargaining unit work from a
union facility to a non-union facility;
Counseled a financial services company implementing a multi-phase mass layoff affecting facilities in several jurisdictions;
Successfully briefed and argued the granting of an emergency petition to stay in a wage and hour matter before the
Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania;
Successfully briefed and argued the granting of attorneys' fees in a non-competition case before the Pennsylvania
Superior Court;
Obtained partial summary judgment in a federal court case resulting in the dismissal of an employment-related assault
claim;
Successfully negotiated collective bargaining agreements for employers in the manufacturing, distribution, food service,
and telecommunications industries; and
Obtained remedial orders in an unfair labor practice case against two Philadelphia-based construction unions for using
inflatable rats and engaging in unlawful picketing.
Mr. Landesman graduated from Boston University in 1995 and Fordham University School of Law in 1998. While in law school, he
received the Archibald Murray Public Service Award, served on the Fordham Environmental Law Review, and completed internships at
the National Labor Relations Board and New York City Mayor's Office of Labor Relations. He was named a “Rising Star” as published in
Philadelphia Magazine in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
