RE-ENTRY VISA APPLICATION Revised June 15, 2012 HELPFUL TIPS 1. Be sure to apply for your visa application letter from International Student Services well in advance. It may take up to two weeks to produce this letter. 2. Do not send your original Study Permit with your application - you will only need to send a photocopy of your Study Permit. Since you will send your passport with your application it is very important that you keep your original Study Permit with you. 3. Before mailing your application, make photocopies of your full application package along with all of the documentation that you will be sending (including the page of your passport showing the passport number and expiry date) for your own records. 4. When mailing your application form to the Canadian Visa Office, it is highly recommended that you use a courier mail service, such as Canada Post’s Xpresspost, to ensure that it will arrive faster, to confirm that the Canadian visa office has received your application, and to have a record that the application was sent. This is also a safer method of sending your passport. 5. It is also highly recommended that you include a pre-paid envelope (with your mailing address written on it) from Canada Post with your application, This will ensure that your passport will be returned to you faster and allow you to track your passport since it has been mailed by the Canadian Visa Office in Ottawa. This office will only use pre-paid envelopes from specific companies, otherwise, they will return your passport by regular mail. 6. Check your application form and documents thoroughly to ensure that your application is complete and signed. The CIC visa office will return your application if it is incomplete. 3 NEW!
