B3CF Established in 2008, The British and Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland is a not for profit, non-governmental organization created to help companies and entrepreneurs do business in Finland and throughout the Commonwealth. Our mission is to help business establish or improve business operations in their destination country (countries). We provide specific contacts, education, real life examples and direct links to the necessary support facilities to ensure you are successful. Our relationship to influential and well-connected resources, such as the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC), Council of British Chamber of Commerce in Europe (COBCOE) and the Genesis Initiative (GI) help further our boundaries and connections, giving one more piece of leverage for cementing success. What is the Commonwealth? With origins dating to the 1870’s in the old British Empire, the modern Commonwealth, ratified in 1949, is a voluntary membership of 54 independent countries, each of equal status, pursuing the goals of democracy, equality, and freedom. The Commonwealth has some of the world’s largest nations, like India and Canada, but also some of the smallest like Grenada and Nauru. The total population is just under 2 billion, with 50% under the age of 25. Commonwealth countries promote democracy and good governance, sustainable economic and social development, respect for human rights and the rule of law, gender equality and protection of the environment. The Head of the Commonwealth is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Labeled by the BBC News World as ‘The Club of the 21st Century’, the Commonwealth acts as a family, with a common history, and common culture and common vision, striving to lift their people, the economy, health and welfare, and the environment.
