Annual EEO Public File Report Form
Stations WXTV – WFUT - WFTY
The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section
73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the
Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): WXTV, WFUT-TV
AND WFTY-TV and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these stations, and
posted on their websites, if they have websites.
The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning
January 28th 2013 to and including January 28th 2014 (the “Applicable Period”).
The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:
1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment
Unit during the Applicable Period;
2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if
applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the
new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact
person and telephone number;
3. The recruitment source that referred the hire for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable
Period;
4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the
Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source
utilized in connection with such vacancies; and
5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(2) of
the FCC rules.
Appendices 1, 2 and 3 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the
required information. Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix 2 under the column
entitled “Full-time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized” refer to the number of the
full-time job positions listed on Appendix 1.
For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed “filled” not when the offer was
extended but when the hire accepted the job offer. A person was deemed “interviewed” whether
he or she was interviewed in person and/or over the telephone.

Covering the Period from January 28, 2013 to January 28, 2014
Station(s) Comprising Station Employment Unit: WXTV and WFUT-TV/WFTY-TV
Section 3: Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken
1. Internship Program: Program is designed to assist college students in the community who
are seeking skills needed for a career in broadcast. The program provides students with
“hands-on” experience in the promotions, communications, and news departments. Following completion
of the program, students receive educational credits as well as an evaluation from the department
manager. During the period covered by this report, five students participated in the program.
2. Student Tour Program: The student tours program provides students in the area with information
about career opportunities in the communications/media field. It includes a tour of the station and brief
summary of the departments. The station conducts instructional school tours for students/schools
throughout the metropolitan area, on a regular basis. Tours are usually conducted by a station manager.
(a) Mar 22, 2013 – Westbury High School, Westbury, NY
(b) May 1, 2013 – Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation, Bronx, NY
(c) May 23, 2013 – Memorial High School, West New York, NJ
(d) June 20, 2013 - Luis Muñoz Marin High School – Newark, NJ
(e) August 20, 2013 – Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY
(f) November 20, 2013 – Emerson Middle School, Union City, NJ
3. Participated in the following Educational/Career focused programs:
(a) Participated in Ronald McDonald’s H.A.C.E.R. scholarship program. The program was
promoted (through public service announcements) in both stations: WXTV and WFUT-TV/WFTY-TV.
In addition, WXTV-Univision 41’s news anchor, Rafael Pineda, presented a scholarship to one of the
award recipients/students. The scholarship ceremony took place on Thursday, June 13, 2013. The station
was also part of the selection committee on Wednesday, April 22, 2013 for the scholarships awarded.
(b) The station developed a Career Day at Univision for college student where students heard from
various Univision executives about careers within the company (sales, marketing, public relations,
journalist, etc.). The event took place on Monday, May 201, 2013. The event had a panel discussion at
Univision’s corporate headquarters for the students, and a tour of the station in Teaneck, NJ.
(c) Participated in Career Day at James J. Ferris High School in Jersey City, New Jersey, on Thursday,
March 21, 2013. WXTV-Univision 41’s reporter Sandra O’Neill shared her

career journey with the students and spoke to them about career opportunities in journalism.
(d) The station’s news anchor Adriana Vargas participated as Motivational Speaker at an event for
students at Multicultural High School in Brooklyn, New York, on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Adriana
shared her experience and journey in media, and spoke to the students about the various career
opportunities within a television station.
4. Participated in a Career Fair and Workshop on Thursday, February 28, 2013 and Friday, March 1,
2013, hosted by the International Radio and Television Society (IRTS), where WXTV and WFUTTV/WFTY-TV had a recruitment table and participated in a workshop to talk to students about the
various positions within the television industry. The fair was attended by approximately 250 college
students. The station’s director of communications, Aida E. Rosario, attended the career fair, as well as
the VP/General Manager Ramón J. Pineda and the news director, Norma Morato.
5. As part of Univision’s education initiative, “Es el Momento”, the station held a College Preparedness
and Education Workshop, in collaboration with Aspira of New Jersey, Inc., where students had an
opportunity to talk to experts in education. The event took place on April, 27, 2013 in Jersey City, New
Jersey.
6. The station’s news director Norma Morato participated in a Media Panel for CUNY students in New
York at the NOAA CREST Symposium on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. The news director shared her
expertise and insight about working as a news professional, and provided advise to students seeking to
pursue a career in a news organization.
7. The stations were the media sponsor of the Career Expo on Friday, November 1, 2013, hosted by the
New Jersey Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The station’s participation included a recruitment
table and promotion of the event to the community. The expo was promoted for approximate 10 days in
WXTV and WFUT-TV/WFTY-TV, and was attended by the station’s director of communications, Aida
E. Rosario.

Section 3: Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken

4. Participated in the following Educational/Career focused programs:

(c) Participated in Career Day at Gregorio Luperón High School, Manhattan, New York, on Friday,
April 20, 2012. WXTV-Univision 41’s reporter Ana Ledo addressed the students and shared her
career experience with the students. She also spoke to them about career opportunities in
journalism.
(d) Participated in Career Day at Perth Amboy High School, Perth Amboy, New Jersey, on Friday,
April 27, 2012. WXTV-Univision 41’s morning news anchor Merijoel Durán addressed the
students and shared her career experience with the students. She also spoke to them about career
opportunities within a television station.

(e) On May 10, 2012, WXTV’s SVP/General Manager Ramón J. Pineda made an education
presentation with statistical information to a group of community leaders and education experts
at the NPRDP Education Leadership Banquet.
(f) Participated in HISPA’s Annual Banquet in Iselin, New Jersey, on Thursday, January 10, 2013.
WXTV-Univision 41’s morning news anchor Merijoel Durán shared her experience as an anchor,
while serving as a role model for students to consider a career in broadcast television.
