3 Sample Donation Request Letters
3 Sample Donation Request Letters One of our board members wanted to share these donation request letters she has been using. She found them very effective when sent from individual fundraising webpages. This mother manages each child’s webpage. She logged-in as one of the children and sent the appropriate message from that child’s fundraising portal. She also sent a message from her own webpage. She was so surprised at the response from the children’s’ “ask”! People can donate directly to that child and it was impactful. Please feel free to use and change as needed. The highlighted areas would need to be changed. #1 – From PARENT #2 – From CHILD w/Spina Bifida #3 – From SIBLING of child w/Spina Bifida Who to Ask: Family, friends, friend’s parents, schoolmates, schoolmates’ parents, teachers, clergy, doctors, pharmacists … #1 From PARENT: Hello! Our family has been directly impacted by the work of Spina Bifida Association of Indiana. It is the nation's leading voluntary health organization that provides direct services to people living with Spina Bifida; education to the public, to patients, and to healthcare providers; advocates on behalf of people with Spina Bifida; and funds research into the causes of Spina Bifida. Thank you in advance for your support! Love, Parent’s name #2 From CHILD w/SB Hi! You may know me as the girl you see in the hallways and classrooms at school. Indicate how people may know you You may not know that I have Spina Bifida. I was born with a hole in my spine, and because of that, it's harder for me to do some things that come easily for other people. I am excited to be participating in the Walk-N-Roll for Spina Bifida on May 11, 2013. I'm writing to ask for your support by donating to my walk. The proceeds go to the Spina Bifida Association of Indiana and are used to help people like me go to camp, pay for braces like mine and prevent babies from being born with SB. By clicking on the "Support Me" link in this email, you will be taken to my web page where you can donate directly to my Walk-n-Roll goal. I'm hoping to raise $1,000 by myself, and our team, "______________," has a goal of $5,000. Last year, the first annual Walk-n-Roll raised almost $50,000! I hope you'll help me to reach my fundraising goal! Love, Child’s name #3 From SIBLING of child with SB: Hello! You know me as a friend of your son or daughter at school.
