Teaching resources and documents
Centre International d'Antibes' grammatical guide developed by our teaching team is
given to each student.
Our teaching resources are mostly composed of documents of French daily and
professional life : press reviews, audio and video documents, advertisements, pictures,
paintings from different periods, comics, movies and book extracts, video clips and actual
French songs...
Teaching activities sometimes rely on the study of French and French-speaking websites.
Teaching follow-up
Small groups allow teachers to develop an appropriate curriculum and be responsive to
each individual's needs no matter how long the program is.
Every four weeks, each student is offered an overall evaluation, consisting of constructive
advice to help them progress yet further.
For students preparing for a DELF exam, a mock examination is held approximately
every 3 weeks, simulating real examination conditions. These ensure regular updates on the
students' progress
From our perspective, we want to monitor the evolution of our program by asking students
to fill out a questionnaire to evaluate each aspect of their stay.

* Practical and professional context
** Due to the new DELF exams calendar our DELF preparation session of 05.01.2014 will be exceptionally
organised in 11 weeks.
Important information about the DELF courses:
Since the DELF exam changed, students who do the DELF preparation are mixed with
other students.
Since the beginning of 2008 all of our courses evolved in order to adapt as closely as possible
to the concept developed by the CECR (Commune European Framework of Reference).
They encourage a dynamic and interactive teaching method (pédagogie active) which places
students in practical situations where they have to communicate and exchange for a genuine
overall progression in all skills.
The DELF course embraces that approach which prevails throughout all of our programs so
that it may comply with the CECR recommendations. It only slightly stands out as it proposes
more regular training to the DELF various examinations. However, students in the DELF
program are regularly assessed by their teachers who tutor them individually.
11
They are evaluated through blank tests or extra assignments/homework in order to get
intensive training for each part of the test in the DELF. Lastly, they will be offered the help
they need with all the issues regarding the exams.
The examination takes place during the last week of the students' stay. Depending on
the exam date, the last week will be dedicated to final preparation for the exam (if the
exam takes place at the end of the week) or to the correction of the exam
(if the exam takes place at the beginning of the week).
At the time of registration, students are sent a level test. This should be returned as soon as
possible.
Prior to departure, students are given a certificate from the school detailing the length of the
course taken, the level achieved, and the teacher's appraisal.
The registration fee set by the French national Education is 100€ per unit and must be paid
upon arrival (fees may be subject to change).
The examinations may run over a period of three days.

European Health Insurance Card :
- From 2006, nationals from countries members of the European Union can get a free
European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). EHIC allows citizens of the EEA countries and
Switzerland to receive medical treatment in another member state for free or at a reduced
cost, if that treatment becomes necessary during their visit (for example, due to illness or an
accident), or if they have a pre-existing chronic condition which requires care such as kidney
dialysis.
- It only covers healthcare which is normally covered by a statutory health care system in the
visited country, so it does not render travel insurance obsolete.
- The EHIC replaces the E111 document that was needed to get a medical cover in another
European country.
- The EHIC is normally valid for three to five years and covers any medical treatment that
becomes necessary during your trip, because of either illness or an accident. The card gives
access to state-provided medical treatment only.
