ONGOING SUCCESS DRIVES GULF OIL TO EXPAND NATIONAL
FIELD SALES TEAM
Framingham, Massachusetts – October 7th, 2014 – Gulf Oil LP, one of the fastest growing
branded marketers of energy products in the U.S., today announced that two additional industry
veterans have joined its team as part of Gulf’s successful national expansion efforts. Focused
on the South and Midwest regions, each of these new managers brings expertise, area contacts
and focused energy to accelerate the company’s growth in these key markets.
“Since Gulf Oil began our national expansion efforts in 2010, when we acquired all rights to the
Gulf brand in the U.S., we have seen incredible results,” said Gulf Senior Vice President and
Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Rick Dery. “We have grown from a portfolio of approximately
1,700 supplied Gulf locations in 11 states to a network of over 2,500 branded retail stations
across 30 states, with extraordinary relationships with hundreds of dealers and distributors. But,
we’re not stopping there – we are committed to bringing the iconic Gulf brand and trusted
service to even more highways, byways and routes across the country.”
The new members of the Gulf team helping with national expansion efforts include:
Christopher Gannon, Senior Account Manager (South) – In his role at Gulf, Chris is focusing
on business development and expansion efforts across the southern states of Florida, Alabama,
Arkansas and Missouri. He brings more than 15 years of experience in the industry to the Gulf
team, including management positions with brands such as Getty, Apache Oil and Lukoil North
America. Chris has already shown his business acumen by spearheading Gulf’s new
relationship with Bumpers Oil – bringing the brand back to the Yellowhammer State for the first
time in two decades.
Careyann Robleski-Chmelik, Account Manager (Midwest) – Careyann joins Gulf with over
12 years of industry experience, which she will bring to bear on behalf of the company in
Midwest states including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She was most
recently with Capra Consulting Group, where she focused on technology, payment, security,
and loyalty solutions for the firm’s petroleum and convenience store clients. Prior to that
Careyann managed business development and accounts for Clark Brands LLC (Clark gasoline
brand, Four Corners Coffee and On the Go convenience stores). Early on, she began her work
in the market as owner and operator of the Coffee Depot Deli and Bakery in Lisle, Illinois, where
for six years she understood from the store owner’s point of view what it takes for a supplier to
deliver superior service and value.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris and Careyann to our team,” said Dery. “They each have the
background, experience, regional contacts and know-how to help accelerate Gulf’s presence in
their regions. More than one million customers pass through a facility supplied or branded by
Gulf every day – and thanks to Chris, Careyann and the entire field team we have driving our
expansion, that number is continuing to climb.”
Gulf Oil pioneered the concept of branded product sales in the early 20th century by selling
gasoline in containers and from pumps marked with the distinctive orange disc Gulf logo.
Customers during this period sought out Gulf branded stations because they were assured of
the quality and consistency of its gasoline. Quality and consistency remain the hallmarks of the
company.
