Further events, mostly in the form of illustrated talks, take
place at approximately monthly intervals, normally at the
University Campus in Old Aberdeen, and are followed by
refreshments. The cutting of the Vasilopita (traditional New
Year cake) containing a lucky coin, follows the January
meeting.

The first meeting of the Society’s 2014-2015 programme is on
Thursday 9 October at 7.30 pm in St Mary’s Church Hall, King
Street (opposite the University playing fields), and takes the
form of a Greek Evening. Greek food and wine are served to
members free of charge and music, dancing and AV
presentations take place in the course of the evening.

to offer a varied programme of informative and entertaining
talks with a balance between ancient and modern Greek
topics.
