Our Fair is our biggest fundraiser each year, and needs every family to contribute to its success.
Please show how your family are able to help by ticking the relevant boxes below and returning
the form to the school office by Monday 8 September.
BEFORE THE FAIR
ON THE DAY

□ Fair setup – Saturday from 8am. Involves
Donating ingredients. Sugar, condensed milk,
cocoa, sugar, vinegar, lemons, sugar, oranges,
butter, sugar. Can be left at the office for the
sweet and preserve makers.
□ Making sweets – fudge, coconut ice, toffee,
etc. Recipes, tips and advice available. There
may be donated ingredients. Plus creating lolly
necklaces.
putting up marquees, helping with food court
setup, stall signs, bunting, etc
□ Helping on a traditional stall (see list over
page)
□ Helping at one of the many food stalls,
including taking orders and/or money (so
cooking not compulsory!). (see list over page)
□ Making preserves – pickles, chutneys, jams,
sauces, marmalade. Recipes, tips and advice
available. There may be donated ingredients.
□ Helping with an activity. Teddy tombola, face
painting, hair braiding, lucky dip, dress-ups all
need adult oversight.
□ Making crafts – our craft group are working
already, but need more helpers. (They also
need donations asap of: Any unused airline
socks, buttons, fabric, mini plastic animals,
plus any nice jars with metal lids.)
□ Delivering Fair flyers to homes in Island Bay.
□ Distributing and displaying Fair posters to local
noticeboards and businesses.
□ Helping with kids games. We have a selection
of fun games, but they need some adult
supervision.
□ Helping on a refreshment stand. Includes soft
drinks, juice, iceblocks.
□ Baristas. Our espresso stand is hugely popular, and
we need several exceptional experienced and fast
coffee makers from 10am.
□ Putting up roadside signs around South
Wellington.
□ Donation sorting. At school, during school
hours in the week before the fair. Clothing &
white elephant need lots of help.
□ Fair setup – Friday from 1pm. Involves helping
set up second hand stalls, and some sorting.
□ Pick-up people – ute, trailer, van or similar to
collect tables, bbqs, clothing racks, and other
items on Friday afternoon.
□ Mobile icecream/gelato sellers
□
Sushi team – a small team of parents to make
sushi in the morning and/or sell during the day.
Ingredients and maybe some training will be
available.
□ Helping at the Middle Block Café.
□ Clean-up after the Fair (2pm onwards). This is a vital
role to relieve stallholders, and help get the school
back to normal for Monday.
□ Drop-off people – ute, trailer, van or similar to return
tables, bbqs, leftover goods to charity shops etc.

We have a great range of stalls, and everyone would like a break to drink, eat, and enjoy the fair,
so we really do need every family to sign up to contribute to its success. We’ve had great
feedback from everyone who’s been part of previous fairs about the fun had being on a stall!
