KORENGAL Korengal is a 2014 documentary that picks up where Restrepo left off, taking the viewer deeper into soldiers’ experiences of war in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan. Rated R for language throughout and brief nude images (1:34) HECHO EN MÉXICO In Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month Director Duncan Bridgeman (One Giant Leap) weaves together a beautiful and rhythmic cinematic tapestry composed of original songs, conversations, reflections, wisdom and humor featuring many of the greatest performers and sharpest minds of Mexico today. The film showcases the richness of Mexican music both young and old, from traditional music to pop, rock, and rap blended with interviews and songs from some of the most popular artists of Latin America, including Alejandro Fernández, Diego Luna, Calle 13, Lila Downs, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, and many more leading personalities. The result is an inspiring, fresh and often funny musical road trip through the modern day “Mexicanity.” Rated R for some language, sexual references and brief drug use (1:48) IF I STAY Gayle Forman’s intensely moving, best-selling novel comes to the screen in the drama If I Stay, starring Chloë Grace Moretz (Carrie, the Kick-Ass films). Now, Besson directs Scarlett Johansson in Lucy, an action-thriller that tracks a woman accidentally caught in a dark deal who turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic. Lucy also stars Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby). He soon uncovers this assignment marks him a target of his former friend and CIA protégé David Mason. With growing suspicions of a mole in the agency, there is no one Devereaux can trust, no rules and no holds barred. (1:30) MALEFICENT - 3D A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal - an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces a battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom - and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well. Rated PG for sequences of fantasy action and violence, including frightening images (1:48) HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 - 3D Set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons, and based on the book by Cressida Cowell, the action comedy tells the story of Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesn’t exactly fit in with his tribe’s longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccup’s world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges he and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view.
