PASTOR APPRECIATION DAY
Today is “Pastor Appreciation Day”. We want to take this time to thank
Tom and Carolyn for all their hard work and everything they do to help us
while serving our congregation. We love you and your family!
ELDERS AND CHURCH BOARD TO MEET
There will be a church Elders’ meeting TODAY at 5:00 p. m. and a Board
Meeting TONIGHT after church.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR FOOD BANK
Volunteers are needed to distribute food for Second Harvest Food Bank on
Tuesday, October 14, at 8:30 a. m. Distribution is at 9:00 a. m. There are
flyers in the foyer for you to post.
AREA-WIDE CHRISTIAN SENIORS’ RALLY
The eighth Area-Wide Christian Seniors' Rally will be held on Thursday,
October 16, at Boones Creek Christian Church from 8:45 a. m. to 3:45 p. m.
Featured speaker will be Bob Russell. Six workshops, led by area ministers
including David Clark, will be available. Cost is $15, including lunch.
NEWSLETTER INFORMATION NEEDED
Please give all newsletter information to Lisa Lowe no later than Sunday,
October 19. Please remember to include any awards, sporting honors,
good grades, etc. your children have achieved. Thank you!
IT’S TCTC TIME FOR TEENS
Fall means it is time to start planning for the Tennessee
Christian Teen Convention. Please mark your calendars for January 9
– 11. Let's shoot for the super early-bird deadline of Sunday,
November 2, to register for $50. The cost goes up to $60 after that.
Sign up by then, and the church will pay your registration. More details
to come. Check out www.tctcinfo.com for this year's guests.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
We are collecting different items each month and will put them
together in November for Operation Christmas Child. In
October we are collecting something for a child who is 11 – 14 and
hard candy. Please put donations in the wicker basket in the foyer.

ARM is asking Carter to contribute four dozen cans of cranberry sauce for this
year’s Thanksgiving baskets. Please donate by Sunday, October 26.
MEAL FOR SHUT-INS
The Ladies Aide will deliver meals to shut-ins on Monday, October 27.
If you know of someone who would need a meal, please contact a
member of the Ladies Aide. Thanks for your help!
CCCWF TO MEET
The Carter County Christian Women’s Fellowship will meet on Tuesday,
October 28, at 7:00 p. m. at Carter. All ladies are asked to bring a dessert.
CANDY FOR TRUNK-OR-TREAT
We are collecting candy throughout the month of October for our annual
Trunk-or-Treat. Please place your candy in the tub in the foyer. The
Trunk-or-Treat will be Friday, October 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p. m. Thanks for your
help!
ETCHA HOSTING JOYFEST
The East Tennessee Christian Home and Academy is hosting their third
annual Joyfest at T. A. Dugger Junior High School on Saturday, November 1,
from 6:00 to 9:00 p. m. This year’s lineup includes the ETSU Bluegrass Band, Third
Day Resurrection, No Name But His, and Downpour. Tickets are $7 for general
seating and $10 for reserved seating. Proceeds from this event will benefit East
Tennessee Christian Home and Academy. For more details please see the poster in
the foyer.

Youth Program and Families
EDUCATION MINISTRY
ADULTS: Men and women meet together on Sunday at 10:00 a. m. in the Fellowship Hall.
They study various topics. Volunteers lead this study.
MIXED-UP ADULTS: Men and women meet together on Sunday at 10:00 a. m. in their
classroom. They study various topics. Volunteers lead this study.
YOUTH AND CHILDREN: The following classes meet in their classrooms at 10:00 a. m. on
Sunday: Ages 0 – 1, Ages 2 – 4, Ages 5 – 6, Elementary School Age, and Youth with
various teachers.
After the last worship song all kids ages 2 thru 8 dismiss to Kid’s Church, They sing, learn
Bible verses, have Bible stories, do crafts, and have other activities. They have various
teachers.
