Happening at North Walhalla
Deacons for 2014-2015
Wayne Deaton, Ronnie Finley, Chris Grant, Anthony Holbrooks,
Raymond Loudermilk, and David Williamson are our deacons for
this church year. Please keep them in your prayers as we strive
to find the will and direction of the Lord for North Walhalla as we
move forward together.
Church Work Day
There will be a church work day on this Friday, October 17. More
details to follow.
Teen Talent Kick-Off Meeting
There will be a kick-off meeting this evening for teen talent
which will be coming up February 20-21. The meeting will be at
5:00pm in the Youth Sanctuary. This will be an informational
meeting to let you know the categories in which you can
participate. You must be 13 by the date of teen talent to
participate. Parents are encouraged to attend this meeting.
Scheduled for Surgery or a Medical Procedure?
Due to the continued growth of the church and for us to take
better care of you, we are needing to make a change in our
surgery/hospital policy. If you are having a scheduled
surgery/procedure please contact the church office (telephone
or email) and let the administrative assistant, Lisa, know the date
and the time of the procedure so we can better serve
you and your family with care.
Joy at Heart Senior Adults
The Joy at Heart Senior Adults will meet on November 4 at
6:00pm in the fellowship hall. Be sure to plan on being at this
meeting and potluck meal, as Pastor Scottie will be our special
guest. Also, Jay Winstead has asked us to help donate bags for
middle school students with travel size shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
Please give these items to Romelle Loudermilk or Lisa Addis by
Wednesday night, October 15.
Chili Cook Off and Cake Auction
We will be having our annual chili cook off on Sunday night,
November 16th, beginning at 6:00pm in the fellowship hall. There
will also be a cake auction that night. The entry fee for a chili pot
is $20.00 and there is no charge for a cake. If you are interested
in putting in a pot of chili or a cake see Rory Jones! All the
proceeds go toward our World Missions projects! May the best
chef or cheater win!
Fellowship Hall
The fellowship hall will be closed October 13 -18 for all
gatherings in order to prepare for Homecoming
Nursery Care Ministry
If you would like to be added to the nursery care list, please see
Terri Addis. Parents are encouraged to participate.
100th HOMECOMING
Next Sunday we will celebrate 100 years of ministry here at
North Walhalla. Many former pastors will be in attendance, along
with the State Overseer, the General Overseer, our State
Senator, and many other guests, on this special day. Please
invite family and friends of the church to come and worship with
us as we celebrate the blessings of the Lord on this
church. Bring a well-filled basket and stay for lunch. The church
will provide some meat (fried chicken, chicken strips, and
ham) and you bring the rest and we will have a good day!
Pathfinders
Those going on the retreat please note your second deposit of
$70/person is due today. Please make checks payable to North
Walhalla and give to April or Anthony Holbrooks. Also, the
pathfinders group will be taking monetary donations to go
toward Harvesting Hope Thanksgiving food bags that will be
handed out to the needy in the community. Please see April or
Anthony Holbrooks for details. Matthew 25:45

please see one of the following coordinators: Anthony
Holbrooks, Russell Baldwin, Denise Godwin, Kenny Nicholson, or
Romelle Loudermilk. If you would like to donate food or candy
please see Anthony Holbrooks or Rhonda Addis.
Children's Church Competition Is Underway AGAIN!!!
Will the winner be the girls, or the boys? We are having our
annual food battle to assist the Pathfinder's Sunday School class
with feeding our community for Thanksgiving. From now until
November 2nd our kids will be challenged to bring boxes
of stuffing and canned green bean donations. The winners will
be pleased with the results! Please help support our kids as we
look forward to helping those in need.
