Softcopy of the abstract may be sent to the organizing/joint organizing secretary through email (doley@tezu.ernet.in/mrupak@tezu.ernet.in). Abstract should not exceed 250 words typed in Times New Roman font of 12 pt. The presenting author’s named should be underlined. The last date of receipt of abstract is 1st November 2014. Selected abstracts will be considered for oral/poster presentation. OBJECTIVE ABOUT TEZPUR CITY The department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology was established in 1997. This department has been recognized by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India and granted accreditations for the Post Graduate programme. The department offers two-year M. Sc degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, 5 year Integrated M.Sc in Bioscience and Bioinformatics and PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The department is also supported by UGC-SAP (DRS Phase I), DST-FIST and DBT Strengthening project for teaching and research in North East. Tezpur is situated on the northern banks of river Brahmaputra in Sonitpur District of Assam. It finds mention in our ancient epic of Mahabharata as Sonitpur. Kaziranga National Park is only 80.6 km via NH37A and AT road from Tezpur. With a drive of about 1hr 10 min, one can visit the National Park famous for one horned Rhinocerous. Tezpur city is also considered one of the most beautiful township of Assam. ARRIVAL AT TEZPUR We are organizing the NATIONAL SEMINAR ON “Recent Advances in Biotechnological Research in North East India: Challenges and Prospects” November 27-29, 2014. The purpose of this seminar is to encourage active participation of young scholars of this region to showcase their progress in biotechnological research and other allied areas. Through this we would get opportunity to invite reputed scientist of the country to encourage young researchers of North East India. CORRESPONDENCE Dr. R. Flights are available from Guwahati and Kolkata on selected days of week. NB: No TA/DA will be provided to the participants. Registration fee is inclusive of seminar kit and meals. Limited seats are available in the University Guest house/hostel guest room on first come first basis.
