Winter Sports
Winter sports sign ups start Monday, Oct 20. If you are interested in participating in
basketball, wrestling or swim, stop by the Athletic Office and sign up and pick up the
necessary paperwork.
Attention Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors
National Honor Society will be having short, informational meetings at 8:30, 12:30, and
3:45 on Thursday 10/16 in room 76 for eligible new members. This is an opportunity to
question the officer team and board members about the benefits of being a part of
National Honor Society. Packets were delivered last week and need to be returned to Mrs.
Watson in CAHPS (either to the CAHPS office or room 76) by 10/31.
SAFE! Do you want everyone to feel safe on our campus? Come to a facilitated
discussion on HOW CAN WE MAKE OUR CAMPUS SAFE FOR ALL OF OUR
STUDENTS? This Friday, October 17th at 12:30pm in the PAC lobby, facilitated by
Matthew Reynolds, GSA advisor. This event is sponsored by Crater GSA, “Creating
Community by Educating OUR Community”
BIS U of O and OSU Trip
 What: a tour of OSU and U of O including campus and housing tours, financial aid
and admissions information, Q&A with a panel of BIS Alumni, a fun evening out
with friends and a sporting event
 When: Thursday and Friday, November 6 & 7
 Who: All juniors and interested seniors. High achieving sophomores also welcome.
Get your permission slips from Ms. Roberts at the BIS front desk and turn your money in
to the bookkeeper.

Free and Reduced Lunches
Please remember that you have to fill out free and reduced lunch applications each year.
They don’t carry over from year to year. Applications are available at the BIS office.
Powder Puff and He-Man Volleyball
Powder Puff Update
Still need Freshman players - we now have 10 - 1 more and we have a team! Hoping to get
up to 20 - C'mon freshman! Nothing like playing a little football under the lights at Dutch
Meyer Stadium! See Bookkeeper to sign up.
Senior and Soph Practices - M, T and Thur at 5:30 in front of PAC
Frosh and Junior Practices - M - Th at 4:00 to 5:20 in front of PAC
HeMan Update - Net will be set up to play at lunch - see Rogan for volleyballs
Still need players for all teams:
Frosh - 2 signed up - 8 openings
Soph - 4 signed up - 6 openings
Junior - 4 signed up - 6 openings
Seniors - 6 signed up - 4 openings

Tutoring
National Honor Society Tutoring starts Sept. 30th and ends May 12th. Sessions are every
Tuesday from 4-5 pm. in Room 601 (in the Tech Center). The cost is $40 for 5 one-hour
sessions. Pick up an application at the BIS office.
RCC Driver’s Education
Fall term classes will begin 10/13 – 12/3 on Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:45
PM. The BIS office has registration applications. For more information and to register

YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The School Based Health Center Youth Advisory Committee is still in need of at least six
Crater Campus students. YAC will be having its first meeting tomorrow October 08, 2014
@ 8:45am in the Library. Breakfast will be provided for all who participate. Contact me:

Yearbook Cover Contest
The Crater Constellation Yearbook is proud to announce the 5th
Annual Yearbook Cover Contest. Could yours be the winning entry?
Requirements:
 Height - 11" by Width - 17" - (Back Cover is 8.25" by 11" - Spine is .5 by 11" Front Cover is 8.25" by 11")
 The design must include:
o 2014 - 2015 on the front cover.
o One of the following: Crater - Crater High School - Crater Constellation on
the front cover
o On the spine: Crater High School Constellation 2014-2015 - Volume 64
o You may or may not list all the school names (Renaissance Academy, Crater
Academy of Health and Public Service - Crater School of Business, Innovation
and Science) or school letters (RA, CAHPS, BIS) or logos
 Digital Image Resolution must be set at 300
Electronic Versions must be emailed to - mike.rogan@district6.org by Monday, October
13 - please include your name in the file name
Drawings, Collages, other must be the correct size and must be able to be
scanned/photographed and turned in to Rogan in the Tech Center by Monday, October 13
Winner will receive a free yearbook and other prizes to be determined.
All artwork becomes property of Crater Yearbook

Juniors and Seniors
The following college admissions representatives will be on campus in October. If you
meet the entrance requirements, please get permission from your teacher to attend the
visit. You will be responsible for all coursework missed if you choose to attend. If you have
a project, presentation or test on one of these days, please consult with your teacher
regarding your options.

Crater Senior Order Dates
Thursday, October 28th: Senior meeting at 12:00 in the PAC. Graduation/class ring
packets will be passed out and discussed.
Thursday, November 13th / Friday November 14th: 12:30-1:30 in-school ordering in front
of the BIS office. Late ordering begins on January 14th, 2015, so please order prior to this
date to receive custom crater products. Orders received after our deadline will not receive
the custom school announcement so please order on time! Prices are also not discounted

Qualifications: need based, graduate, 3.0 GPA, seek a bachelor's degree, no felonies,

Any junior that wants to take the PSAT must pay the bookkeeper $14. PSAT is scheduled
for Oct. 15th.

ASVAB
The ASVAB test will be held on Friday, Nov. 21st in the Student Center at 9:00 a.m.
