The one with a broken piece of glass covered with cardboard, overwhelming and expensive. Take the pain out- Learn to repair glass broken in doors, windows, panels and more. Each student will be provided a small glass panel for the purpose of breaking out a piece and learning how to replace it. Enjoy restoring a beautiful work and having a good sense of accomplishment after. This session students will learn about gridded drawings. We will grid and draw self portraits. Students will need to bring in their own photograph. After portrait is drawn we will then use drawing techniques (graphite or colored pencil) or painting techniques (acrylic) to create unique and expressive self portraits. All levels of art! • Sept. 9-30 | Tuesdays | 4 wks Session 2: Theme: Creating a Message With our Teen Painting and Drawing Class, students will be able to choose which medium they would like to work on for the 4 week class. For session 2 students will learn mixed media techniques to apply to their work. After technique preparation, students will choose a message and create a work of art to reflect that message. Sign up to learn the Bob Ross Wet-on-wet Technique and create beautiful pieces of art during a Bob Ross Workshop. Please note, only Bob Ross products will be used in this workshop to achieve the desired results. These products may be purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michael’s craft stores. Our focus will be on the most important of these — Two Step — but we will touch on the other dances so that when you are out dancing at a club, you won’t have to sit out any of the songs unless you want to. Basic footwork,timing, rhythm, and patterns will be covered. • Sept. 18-Oct. 16 | Thursdays | 5 wks Time: 7:00-9:00 PM Place: AC-MECHS Cost: Couple-$75 | Single-$40 Instructor: Valerie Ryan CHA-CHA BEGINNERS 14FA-131 This is the most versatile of all the Latin dances — not only can we dance to Spanish-flavored Cha-Cha music, but it fits a certain tempo of Rock’n’Roll (think of the Drifters singing “On Broadway”) and definitely has a home in a C&W setting (Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon” is perfect). We start with Ballroom Latin technique, then move into easy patterns that are fun to do and beautiful to watch. You will receive a two year certification card at the conclusion of the class. You’ll gain hands-on experience training on adult, child, and infant manikins. Zumba toning is the class for you if you like to work out with weights and dance while you do it. Zumba toning targets the abs,thighs,hips, and other muscles throughout the body. These shorter duration, higher intensity workouts produce powerful results. Tabata provides improved athletic capacity and condition, increased strength, improved glucose metabolism, and improved fat burning. Each workout is approximately 25 - 45 minutes. No experience necessary. A yoga mat and set of dumbbells is recommended but not required. Interactive guided practice will benefit beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners. This Primary Series will help students to develop their own unique daily practice routine. Running club will run for 5 weeks, each week will consist of a short teaching time focused on basic running forms, breathing techniques, pre and post running stretching and nutrition. Students will choose a distance (1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 mile distances) and work on that distance each session. Each week CampFit Kids will run their distance and earn a spirit stick with their placement according to their time. Kids can also earn points by encouraging their families to get out and run during the week. On the final week, the CampFit kids with the most points and best times will earn medals in addition to their spirit sticks. Parents are encouraged to come and run with their kids and help them encourage one another. The goal of CampFit Kids is to encourage families to get fit together.
