Create an Activity Sheet and give a copy to your School Counselor. Apply Early! Many Colleges have application deadlines of mid October and November 1st for early notification. Some schools require you to complete the application by the early deadline to be eligible for scholarships. Request recommendations from teachers if necessary, giving them as much notice as possible. Also give them a copy of your Activity Sheet and the Brag Sheet. Check each College’s website for admissions and scholarship/financial aid information. Mercer University funds are awarded for a total of 8 semesters and are not available for summer semester. Also, national scholarships ranging from $1,000-$16,000. Requirements: Must write and record an essay of between 3-5 minutes. Essay themes are listed on the web site. Requirements: Though some scholarships carry donor-specific restrictions, many of these scholarships are unrestricted and are available to students who meet the academic or academic/need criteria. Most scholarships are renewable as long as the recipient maintains the specified minimum grade-point average (GPA) and satisfactory academic progress towards his/her degree.
