Parish Mission Statement
“Over a Century of Catholic Tradition
Serving Our Community”
Parish Mission Statement
We, the parishioners of Saint Anastasia, are a strong faith based
community, grounded in more than a century of Catholic tradition
rooted in worship and service. Compelled by the Good News of Jesus
Christ, we are committed to growing in a deeper relationship with
God and with one another. We strive to become a more vibrant parish
by inspiring an atmosphere of belonging, of welcoming, and by
promoting opportunities to share and spread our Catholic Faith, so
that we may be more united as one parish community.

REMEMBER OUR DECEASED
Please pray for all the deceased members of the St. Anastasia Faith Community that they may be welcomed into the
happiness of eternal life especially, Nancy DelBonifro, Raymond Pribish, Ann Solominow, John Benigni, Fiora DiStafano.
Dear Parishioners of Saint Anastasia,.
So many times when our intentions are devious we make fools of ourselves. We think we’re being clever trying to
deceive someone, but all so often our words or actions give us way. Such it was in today’s Gospel story when the Pharisees
tried to back Jesus into a corner. If he answered one way the anger of the civil authorities and those who disliked Jesus
would have been fueled. If he answered another way the faith of his followers would have been tested and maybe
undermined. Jesus must have shaken his head at their simplemindedness and the immaturity of their attack.
It doesn’t have to be one way or the other, he tells them. Give to God what is God’s and give to the government
what is the government’s. Granted, this is easier said than done, especially in this day and age when we are so aware of our
conscience rights and the increasing violation and deprivation of our religious liberties. We need to be informed about what
is going on around us and involved in protecting what we owe to God. No one should tells us what we can or can’t do in
giving to God his due.
History repeats itself. May we take to heart the need to give to God what is rightly God’s and not let anyone
deprive us from doing so As we can see from the Gospel, it’s not the first time this issue arose, nor will it be the last.
Have a great week,
Fr. Colagreco

MISSION SUNDAY COLLECTION
This weekend, October 18th & October 19th: Please place
your envelope for Mission Sunday in the collection basket at
the same time that you place your parish envelope in the
collection basket. Please be as generous as possible.
ST. ANNIES CYO GOLF OUTING!!!
Monday, October 20th at Paxon Hollow Country Club.
St. Annie’s CYO holds a golf outing each year to raise money
to support our sports programs. It is the most important
fundraiser that we have, and it is critical to our ability to
continue to fund the capital needs that we have for the benefit
of the youth of our parish. All are invited to play – we
encourage you to invite friends and family outside of the
parish as well. Golfing is under a “scramble” format – you
don’t have to be a good golfer, fun will be had by all! The
cost is $125, which includes golf, cart, and a buffet dinner
immediately following at Paxon Hollow! If you can’t play
that day, you can still support the outing by being a HOLE
SPONSOR. For $100, your family’s name or your company’s
name will be displayed on a sign on one of the holes, and run
on the CYO website for the year. To register as a Golfer and/
or Hole Sponsor, please pick up a registration form at the back
of the church, or visit the CYO website www.stanniescyo.org
to download the registration forms. Forms need to be returned
by 10/5. If you have any questions, call George Downs at
484-868-6062 or email at gdowns@farmersagent.com

Priest a day or two BEFORE you leave the parish, and make
