Acrylic brushable elastomeric membrane for terraces.
DESCRIPTION
Brushable elastomeric waterproofing membrane for terraces based on acrylic polymers. After the application it
forms an elastic sealing layer, without seams or joints.
Does not contain organic solvents.
APPLICATIONS
It is used for the waterproofing of terraces and balconies, difficult areas (corners, edges, joints between adjacent
different materials) and for isolated sealing of cracks.
PROPERTIES







Forms a breathable and water-impermeable elastic membrane without joints.
Good resistance to contraction-expansion effects and weather changes.
Total waterproofing against water pressure up to 7 atm.
Can also be used as a cool paint that lowers the roof temperature and helps reduce the amount of air
conditioning needed.
Excellent bonding to all surfaces such as metal, wood, concrete etc.
Very good durability.
Environmentally friendly thanks to low VOC content (compliant to Directive 2004/42/CE).
APPLICATION METHOD






The substrate must be free of dust, grease or loose materials etc.
Any existing cavities in concrete should be repaired in advance.
Priming follows, using the special primer HYDRO-PRIMER.
HYDROFLEX – ACRYL is applied by brush or roller in two layers, after the primer has dried. The
second layer should follow crosswise after the first one has dried.
In areas of severe cracks, it is recommended to reinforce HYDROFLEX – ACRYL with a special
fiberglass-mesh tape (65g/m2) 10cm wide. The first layer of HYDROFLEX – ACRYL is applied along
the cracks and, while still fresh, the fiberglass mesh tape is embedded lengthwise.
In case of dense, multiple cracks appearing all over the surface, it is strongly recommended to reinforce
thoroughly the membrane with strips of fiberglass mesh (65g/m2) 100cm wide. The consecutive strips
shall overlap one another by 10cm.
RECOMMENDATIONS



Refrain from using the product under rain or frost conditions.
Temperature during application should be within +5ºC and +35ºC.
Wait until HYDRO-PRIMER is fully dried before the application of waterproofing layers.

conditions in the manufacture plant (temperature, humidity, ventilation, substrate absorption) may affect the properties of the material.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
HYDROFLEX ACRYL is not hazardous according to the Dangerous Preparations Directive (1999/45/CE).
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment for eyes and skin (protective clothing, gloves and
goggles).
If skin contact occurs, rinse well with plenty of clean water.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
CONSUMPTION
Approximately 1.0-1.5 kg/m2 in two layers, depending on the substrate type. When three layers are applied for
the waterproofing of cracks (locally or on the entire surface) consumption can reach 2.5kg/m2.
PACKAGING - STORAGE
Supplied in 15kg, 5kg and 1kg plastic containers.
Shelf life: HYDROFLEX ACRYL is conserved for 12 months from date of production in original unopened
packaging, in places protected from sunlight and frost.
