Another month has come and gone the weather is getting cooler at night and day. This is the perfect time to
get to the range and burn some powder. The matches will be more enjoyable to watch now that it is cooler.
Fall is the perfect time to be on the range shooting or just being outside enjoying life. One word of caution: when setting
your targets early morning or late evening when it is cool at
night, watch out for our resident snake population that may be
trying to get warm on a sunny surface. The best thing to do is
back off. The snake is more scared than you are. If you leave it
alone, it will leave you alone. We have to coexist with them as
they were there before us. If by chance they don't want to
leave, call Jackie LaPradd at 540-797-3961. He will come
and try to find it, and move it to a better location. Trying to kill
it just might get you bitten.
Black Rat Snake
So, till next time, keep your powder dry and bring the kids,
grand kids, nieces, nephews, friends, and wives out to shoot.
Thanks,
John (Bill) Cash
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Utah Concealed Carry Firearm Permit Training
Virginia and 35 other states recognize the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit. That widespread
recognition makes it good to have as an interstate traveler. Utah permit holders may legally
carry while driving through many contiguous states. Those who plan on carrying out of state
may find it very useful to have this as a second permit.
The 4-hour class required to apply for this permit will be offered at the RRRC clubhouse. Interested applicants
should already hold a Virginia Concealed Carry Permit and have completed NRA First Steps Pistol or an equivalent
pistol class. All necessary materials will be furnished. Club members and non-members are welcome.
Cost is $55.00.
The course can be taken at 2:00 pm on October 18, November 16, or December 14.
Please contact Charles Woolwine at cwoolwine2@cox.net for details.

CURRENT AVAILABLE WORK HOURS FOR MEMBERS
Work Hours
Every year we are faced with members who claim that work hours were not made available to them. For this reason,
we will be posting assignments as they become available throughout the year to ensure that all members are aware of
these opportunities.
ROAD AND RANGE MONITORS
This program was a huge hit with the general membership, match directors, as well as our neighbors. Because of this,
we will be continuing to monitor the roads and ranges for many of our 2014 matches. I would like to add that virtually
100% of the members that participated in this program commented that it was a quite enjoyable way to get in their
work hours. I urge you to please consider signing up so we can keep this program running.
CLEANUP CREW
I currently have one position available for the Cleanup Crew. Interested parties should have a
truck or some other means to haul barrels to the dumpster. This is one of our most important
work assignments since it has an immense impact on how the grounds look to both members
and visitors. Please consider stepping up and helping out so we can keep the club looking nice.
Please contact me for further information regarding any of the listed positions, or to discuss
duties in further detail. Assignments will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Jackie Lapradd - 540-797-3961 - John3-16@cox.net
NEW RAFFLE - Kel-Tec PMR-30 .22 Magnum
RRRC is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a Kel-Tec .22 magnum Pistol. This is a special National
Rifle Association Serial # Edition, complete with 2 magazines and a hard case. Proceeds will benefit RRRC
Shooting Programs. Tickets are on sale through July 15, 2015, or when all tickets are sold! A limited number
of only 500 tickets is available. Each ticket is $5 or 5 tickets for $20. To purchase your ticket (s) or to
obtain additional information, contact Bill Padgett at (540) 353-7050 or at handymanBillP@cox.net.
Thank you for supporting RRRC programs!

This is a shoot-a-lot match and have a lot of fun.! You may reenter once. 60 rifle shots at the
silhouettes and 25 pistol shots at 25 yards. Any sight, any firearm, .22LR, no magnums. The

pigs, two turkeys and three rams. Call Harvey Bulaski on 540.343.9040 for information.
IDPA
Thanks to all of the shooters who braved the rain to support our Children’s Miracle Network benefit match. This was a
very worthy cause, and your support was very much appreciated. If you would like to learn more about Children’s Miracle
Network hospitals, please visit their website: http://childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org
In addition to the shooters, I would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers involved who did a tremendous job of
making the match a success. I’d also like to give a special mention to Mike Henson. Mike put in countless hours behind the
scenes, and really was the driving force behind this match.
Things will return back to normal for the October match, and then in November we have
our annual “Toys for Tots” night match. Registration will start at 5pm, with first shots
around 6pm. And remember, the match fee is waived if you donate a new toy.
Hope to see you at the October match,

September’s match had a light turn-out and great weather which made for a perfect relaxing summer day. Both for shooters and target setters. We have one more match scheduled for 2017, on Sunday 19 October. We have room for more shooters and target
setters. It’s a relaxed match and we will take time with new shooters. Come out and see
what the fun is about and ask for a Sharps for Christmas. Call Joe Davis at 540 776 0679

COWBOY FAST DRAW “Boothill News”
RRRC and “Boothill” attract some of the “Fastest” Gunfighters East of the Mississippi at our scheduled Cowboy Fast
Draw matches! The East is the fastest growing area of the country for our sport and Old Dominion Fast Draw continues
to lead the way!
One of the Top Guns in the country is a member of RRRC and is on a roll defeating
Gunfighters in every state he visits!! Our very own Robert Hurt, aka Bob Ed Pain
recently made the trip to attend Kentucky’s very first State Championship. He met some
tough seasoned Gunfighters and “whooped um all”!!! That’s right, Bob Ed Pain is now
the Cowboy Fast Draw Association’s (CFDA) 2014 Kentucky State Champion!! He is the
CFDA’s 2014 Champion of “FOUR” states!! Kentucky, Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas!!!
This is a big achievement! And we at RRRC and ODFD are very proud of him!
CFDA 2014 Kentucky State
Champion – Bob Ed Pain
If you would like to see Bob Ed in action, come and visit us on Boothill! Our next
Cowboy Fast Draw match scheduled there is Sunday, October 19th! It will be “Sombrero
Sunday”!! Any gunfighter that shows up to compete that day wearing a sombrero gets
choice of shooting lanes throughout the day! We are also giving out awards for the
best-dressed “South Of The Border” attire on our Gunfighters! Registration for the
match begins at 8:30am, the Safety Meeting begins at 9:30, and the match begins at
10am. Come & see the action! Meet Bob Ed Pain and a bunch of the other Gunfighters!!
We have two (2) practice nights in October: Wednesday the 8th and Wednesday the 15th from 6-9pm. If you would like
to try it out, come on up to Boothill and we will give you a few pointers and get you on the line. You never know, you
could be the next Wyatt Earp or Doc Holiday!! We even have extra six guns and holsters to loan for the evening.
For info on Cowboy Fast Draw, call “Ringo” (aka Jeff Duncan) at 540-819-1697 or email at rabidringo@yahoo.com.
We have had a good year so far, albeit attendance has been light. There are still two matches left,
the fourth Saturday in October and the fourth Saturday in November. We need new shooters! High
HIGH
POWER power can be a tough sport, but it is very rewarding. So all of you who are curious...come on out and
find out! New shooters always welcome! I'm always only a phone call or e-mail away and glad to
answer questions. See you on the range! Robert Wilson, 540-875-7554; rawilsonw@yahoo.com

Join us on October 26th on A Range for our last match of the year. Come see what we do so you can
put your request in for Christmas! Whatever your interests are in the field of shooting, there is a
shooting venue here at RRRC that you can enjoy. Remember, it's your Range. Use it. And leave it in
better shape than you found it.
