I-CAN Innovation School 2014 Program Modules 4 & 5
I-CAN Innovation School™ 2014 Program Modules 4 & 5 October 21-22, 2014 Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport West Toronto, ON Innovation School Program Overview Background/ Introduction Innovation School is a concept developed by Innoventures Canada Inc. (I-CAN®). It is intended to provide an understanding of innovation, the nature of research and technology organizations, and the role that they play in Canada’s innovation system. It is also designed to help employees of I-CAN members and prospective members learn about the business models and practices that members use to carry out their business. It will do so in a more cost effective manner than members could provide working on their own. To date five modules have been developed: Module 1 Innovation System Overview, Module 2 Program Design, Module 3 Outcomes and Impacts, and Module 4 Competitive Intelligence for RTO’s Module 5 Intellectual Property Management – New Module! For 2014 the I-CAN Innovation School will offer Modules 4 and 5 only, although if there is enough interest, an optional “Primer on Innovation in Canada” will be offered in advance of the regular program. Following the Innovation School there will be a Members-Only round-table discussion of I-CAN business and project opportunities (Oct 22) Each regular Module will include about 40 participants. The group environment is designed to provide an opportunity for high levels of involvement and interaction. It should enable participants in the Innovation School to develop new relationships with personnel from sister organizations. These in turn should result in future opportunities to develop joint projects and collaborative work. This year’s program features: Cost: Optional Primer: includes lunch (Oct. 21) @ $150 Module 4: includes lunch & dinner (Oct. 21) @ $750 Module 5: includes breakfast & lunch (Oct. 22) @ $750 Post-School Event: Business and Project Opportunities (Oct 22) - Only for I-CAN Members and employees of their organizations (no charge) Package #1: Optional Primer and Module 4: (Oct. 21) @ $825 Package #2: Modules 4 & 5 only: (Oct. 21-22) @ $1,250 Package #3: Optional Primer & Modules 4 & 5: (Oct. 21-22) @ $1,325 Program Overview | I-CAN 2 Program Overview: Morning Session Afternoon Session Morning Session Afternoon Session October 21, 2014 October 21, 2014 October 22, 2014 October 22, 2014 Optional: Module 4: Module 5: Post-School Event: “Primer on Innovation in Canada” “Competitive Intelligence for RTOs” “Intellectual Property Management” I-CAN Members’ and employees of their organization Round-Table Discussion of Business and Project Opportunities Location: Hilton Garden Inn – Toronto Airport West/Mississauga Room – McCallion A & B 1870 Matheson Boulevard Toronto, ON, L4W 0B3 http://www.torontoairportwestmississauga.hgi.com Hotel: Hilton Garden Inn – Toronto Airport West/Mississauga Accommodation costs are not included in the price.
