The increase in loan-to-value rates since 2010 makes down payment and other programs more

Building Affordable Housing
Oklahoma has several options for acquiring new affordable housing, but there can be
challenges. Steps have been taken to address these issues and those representing potential
buyers need to be aware of the options that can result in homeownership for their clients. This
panel will explain options and explain how proactively addressing the affordable financing
process can result in a successful experience for homebuyers and their counselors.

Restoring Affordable Housing
The inventory of foreclosed properties can provide affordable housing opportunities if those
attempting to purchase these homes understand how to navigate the process. Not only must
you understand the issues surrounding title but there can, after all this time, be issues with the
condition of the property that need to be addressed during the purchasing process for
homeownership to be successful.
