Coming Spring 2015 – The Sorcerer Lead roles for our Spring 2015 show, Gilbert and Sullivan’s, “The Sorcerer,” have been cast. However, we would welcome former, current and future chorus members. The show will run from April 24 through May 2, 2015, with rehearsals beginning in January on Sunday afternoons from 2 - 4:30 and Tuesday evenings from 7:30-10. Alexis, son of Sir Marmaduke Pointdextre, has lectured in many venues that true love should break down all artificial barriers, such as rank, wealth, beauty, and age, but the response of his listeners is a great disappointment. Despite the misgivings of his betrothed Aline, Alexis engages the great John Wellington Wells, from an old-established firm of family sorcerers, to work magic and bring the ideal of true love to reality. Topsy-turvydom ensues when Alexis extends his scheme to the entire village! Our “Sorcerer” involves a wedding party and a traveling circus so it won’t be like any “Sorcerer” you have seen or performed in before. Stage direction will be by Ryan Goulden with music direction by Helene Furlong. To express interest in joining the chorus, please contact John Trexler at Ardensingers@gmail.com or (484)319-2350. 2 THE ARDEN CLUB CALENDAR NOVEMBER 2014 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Annual Meeting The Annual meeting of the Arden Club was held on Thursday, October 9. The State’s watersheds and waterways contribute $2 to $6 billion in revenue to the state’s economy annually, and directly and indirectly are associated with upwards of 70,000 jobs in the state via tourism, agriculture, industrial, recreation, and water supply sectors. Our discussion will focus on the status and future direction of water policy in Delaware and how policies can impact the supply of clean and plentiful water, which is so important to Delaware's economy. All are welcomed to join in this discussion on Tuesday, November 18, at 7:30 PM in the Lower Gild Hall. For more information on this and future topics, please visit the Scholars Gild blog on the ArdenClub.org website.
