Upcoming Port Augusta Events Summary
November
“Off the Wall” ~ Photographic Exhibition
Saturday 8th November to Monday 8th December
Andrew DeLiane, member of Curdnatta Photographers was looking for inspiration for a local photographic exhibition, the
popular landmark, the Mural on the Hill was an ideal icon upon which to base a collection of images which reflected the
history and passion of the area. Key moments in the history of the Port and surrounding regions have been selected and
reproduced in an authentic way. In direct opposition to the digital era, the photographer has employed an old photographic
technique. “Peel Apart” Polaroid film was used extensively in the 1970's, and it is this medium that has been used to replicate
the iconic moments depicted within the Mural on the Hill. Just as the mural peels back the layers of time and reveals the
progression of the region over time, the Polaroid image is peeled back to produce a record of the icons of the area.
