Welcome to your expanding
Metrolink tram network
Since the first lines to Bury and Altrincham
opened in 1992, the network has grown –
with lines to Eccles, MediaCityUK, Chorlton,
Oldham, Rochdale, Didsbury, Ashton and
Manchester Airport bringing passengers into
the heart of Manchester city centre.
Trams will now run to 92 stops covering 92km (57 miles)
of track – and the multi-million pound expansion of the
system continues – with new lines, a fleet of state-ofthe-art trams, on-stop ticket machines and improved
passenger facilities and information. Metrolink is the
UK’s premier tram network.

network up to the last tram of the day.

Save time
Save money
If you currently drive into the city centre you’ll
find that, compared to the cost of fuel and parking,
travelling by Metrolink represents great value.
Save hassle
With services running every 12 minutes* to and
from the city centre, your next tram is never far away.
To make it easier to get to your nearest Metrolink stop we have
improved the facilities for bike storage. Bike stands or bike lockers
are available at most stops.
In addition Cycle Hubs at Ashton-under-Lyne, Bury,
Piccadilly Gardens and Rochdale Railway Station stop offer
secure under-cover bike parking: www.tfgm.com/cycling
For the safety and comfort of all our passengers, it is not permitted
to take bikes on the tram, except for fully-covered, folding bikes.
• Holders of concession plus passes for disabled people* can travel
for free at all times, using their pass to touch in and out at the start
and end of every journey.
