REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
This weekend we commemorate the fallen of all wars,
especially this year, in the centenary year, of those who
gave their lives in the First World War. At the Sunday
morning Mass we shall, as is our custom, join with the two
minutes silence from Whitehall via live link. We also
welcome members of 4th Aldershot Scout Group who are
joining us for their Remembrance Parade.
PARISH MASS BOOKS – YEAR B
Each set costs £6 and can be dedicated for a particular
prayer intention – one intention per set. If you sponsored a
set for Year A, you will find your details on the printed form
at the back of church – please note on it whether you want
to sponsor a set of Year B books. If you have not sponsored
previously, there is a blank sheet to complete. There is still
opportunity to sponsor a full set for all three years for £18.
We still need a lot more sponsors if we are to have sufficient
books in our churches for Year B. Please see Craig or Nicki
Aburn for more information or to sign up.
FOODBANK ADVENT APPEAL
During November we are appealing to you to donate
something seasonal for the Foodbank Christmas Hampers
that are delivered to families in crisis. There is a list at the
back of church with some ideas. For more information
please speak to Nicki or Barbara Aburn after Mass.
CAFOD MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
The 10.30am Sunday Mass on 16 Nov at Our Lady Help of
Christians, Sherborne Road, North Camp, Farnborough,
GU14 6JS, will remember and hold in prayer all
deceased CAFOD supporters from our diocese and
celebrate their lives, faith and compassion. Everybody is
welcome to attend. If you would like to remember a loved
one (even if you cannot attend the Mass), please send their
names to portsmouth@cafod.org.uk or phone the CAFOD
office on 01252 329385 by 7th Nov and they will be included
in the Book of Remembrance.

by running Flame 2! They’ve already sold nearly 5000

going to be a big part of it, as they travel with Bishop Philip
on our diocesan coach to Wembley for Flame 2! Places
cost just £45 which will include transport, tickets and a
