H. Barbour Senior Tournament is certified with USBC and its rules shall govern this tournament. 2. To be eligible for participation in the 2014 B. H. Barbour Senior Tournament, a bowler must be a certified member of the Capital Area USBC Association prior to bowling in his/her first scheduled event. If a bowler turns the age of 55 on or before December 1, 2014 he/she is eligible to bowl in the tournament. 3. Entrants must report previous tournament prize money won in any event of $600 or more won within the past twelve (12) month period. He/she shall report the scores rolled, date, and position standing (USBC Rule 319d). 4. Entries must be postmarked by 12-1-14. No confirmations will be sent. All lane assignments will be posted on our website at www.raleighbowling.com by December 4, 2014. The standard rate is $22 per event, all events handicap fee is $3 and all events scratch fee is $3. All entry fees are due with the entry form. Any entry that does not have the correct fees will be returned to the captain and the team is not considered registered until all fees are paid. A $25.00 fee plus amount of check will be charged for all returned checks. One check per entry. 5. ONLY USBC CERTIFIED AVERAGES WILL BE USED FOR THIS TOURNAMENT. Each bowler entered must use his/her highest 2013-2014 yearbook average. A bowler without a 2013-2014 yearbook average will use a Summer 2014 average of 21 games or more. If a bowler does not have a yearbook average or summer average, they must use his/her highest established average for the 2014-2015 season (minimum of 12 games) as of November 21, 2014. Verification in writing of the 2014-2015 average must be submitted to the tournament director prior to bowler bowling in his/her first scheduled event. A bowler who does not have an established average from the methods listed above will bowl with a 230 average. Bowlers who must use 2014-2015 average (or summer average) should list average as TBD (to be determined) on the entry form. 6. The 10 or more pin increase in average provision of USBC Rule 319A-2 does not apply to this tournament. The tournament director has the discretion to re-rate any bowler. If a bowler disagrees with the re-rated average, they can request to withdraw from the tournament and receive a refund prior to the start of the tournament. 7. Bowlers failing to use a proper average, or make a correction, up to completion of the first game of their first event, shall disqualify his/her score if submitted average is lower than his/her actual average. If submitted average is higher, the higher average will be used. 8. All bowlers shall check-in with tournament officials at least 30 minutes before the competition event is scheduled to bowl. Any individual failing to appear at the scheduled time or who is not ready to bowl when play is scheduled, shall begin play with zero (0) scored until the frame he/she actually begins bowling. If a team refuses to begin bowling because a full line-up is not present, the team shall forfeit all games they fail or decline to bowl. 9. Handicap in each event will be based on 90% of 230 using the 3 game handicap method. 10. Prize fund will be returned 90% for handicap divisions and 10% for scratch divisions for a total of 100% returned. The prize ratio of 1:8 for the handicap division and 1:10 for the scratch division will be used to determine the prize payout. 11. The tournament prize money will not be awarded until the winners’ averages are verified and will be mailed out within 30 days of the end of the tournament, providing there are not any protests. Tournament checks will be voided after 90 days of the date on the check. Final standings will be posted at www.raleighbowling.com. 12. The lane conditions for the tournament will be the house shot. 2014 B.H.
