We spend our nights in foolishness, instead of watching for your return. Forgive us, merciful God, so that we may return to your fold and rejoice in your presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the Lamb upon the throne. -Amen*ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS Pastor Leader: Hear the good news! All: The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Leader: He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might be dead to sin, and alive to all that is good. All: I declare to you in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. *THE PASSING OF THE PEACE (Briefly pass the peace of Christ to those immediately around you.) * RESPONSE OF PRAISE (Gloria Patri) PH#579 Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. –Amen-. *PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER (To be sung) Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
