CALL TO WORSHIP
One: Celebrate the good news of God’s grace that continually is shown to all people!
All: We will tell of God’s deeds to the coming generation, the glorious deeds of the Lord. One: Let us speak of the wonders that God has done.
All: We set our hope in God, and rejoice in God’s providence and grace.
* HYMN 495
We Know That Christ Is Raised engelberg
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of all, you create us good and call us to live in relationship
with you and one another. Instead we erect barriers and fall to
temptation. We follow lesser gods and allow ourselves to put our
personal agendas before yours. Turn our focus back to you.
Renew within us patience and trust. Help us treat one another
with the kind of care and compassion you show us, and walk in
the way you would have us go.
SILENT CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF GOD’S FORGIVENESS
* PASSING OF THE PEACE
You are invited to share signs with one another of the peace we experience as
forgiven people. Greet one another saying, “The peace of Christ be with you,”
and respond, “And also with you.”
* GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen, Amen.

ANTHEM
Word of God, one with the Most High,
in Whom alone we have our hope,
Eternal Day of heaven and earth,
We break the silence of the peaceful night;
Savior Divine, cast your eyes upon us!
Répands sur nous le feu de ta grâce puissante;
Que tout l’enfer fuie au son de ta voix;
Dissipe le sommeil d’une âme languissante
Qui la conduit à l’oubli de tes lois!
Pour on us the fire of your powerful grace,
That all hell may flee at the sound of your voice;
Banish the slumber of a weary soul,
That brings forgetfulness of your laws!
Ô Christ ! sois favorable à ce peuple fidèle,
Pour te bénir maintenant rassemblé;
Reçois les chants
qu’il offre à ta gloire immortelle,
Et de tes dons qu’il retourne comblé.
O Christ, look with favor upon your faithful people
Now gathered here to praise you;
Receive their hymns
offered to your immortal glory;
May they go forth filled with your gifts.
A CONVERSATION WITH YOUNG DISCIPLES (9:30/11:00) Children through grade five are invited forward. NEW TESTAMENT READING Romans 6:3-11

* AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (9:30/11:00) The Confession of Belhar
We believe in one holy, universal Christian church, the
communion of saints called from the entire human family. We
believe that this unity of the people of God must be manifested
and be active in a variety of ways:
in that we love one another; that we experience, practice and
pursue community with one another; that we are obligated to give
ourselves willingly and joyfully to be of benefit and blessing to
one another; that we share one faith, have one calling, are of one
soul and one mind; have one God and Father, are filled with one
Spirit, are baptized with one baptism, eat of one bread and drink
of one cup, confess one name, are obedient to one Lord, work for
one cause, and share one hope;
together come to know the height and the breadth and the
depth of the love of Christ; together are built up to the stature of
Christ, to the new humanity; together know and bear one
another’s burdens, thereby fulfilling the law of Christ that we
need one another and upbuild one another, admonishing and
comforting one another; that we suffer with one another for the
sake of righteousness; pray together; together serve God in this
world; and together fight against all which may threaten or hinder
this unity.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine
is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
