Sir / Madam,
We inform you with great pleasure that our college proposes to conduct the 43rd Inter P U College State
level cricket tournament ( Twenty 20). It is a unique State Level Tournament meant exclusively for PU
College students of Karnataka State only. Our college has been conducting tournament successfully for the
past 41 years.
The tournament has seen many a great cricketer’s carrer flourish. Robin Uthappa, Anil Kumble, Venkatesh
Prasad, Tilak Naidu, Carlton Saldana, Mithun Beerala, Bharath Chipli, Arun Kumar J, Gowrav Dhiman, Ananth
R & N C Aiyappa to name a few among others.

St.Joseph’s college of commerce has entered the finals 18 times winning the title 11 times.

St.Joseph’s college of Arts & Science has entered the finals 17 times winning the title 9 times.

SBM Jain College has entered the finals 8 times winning the title 5 times.

Vijaya PU college, Jayanagar, the hosts have entered the finals 9 times winning the title twice.

In 2012, St.Joseph P U College won the title and Vijaya P U College, R V Road, were runners up.

Mahajana P U College from Mysore has been playing in this tournament since 25 years. They won
the tournament once and were runners up four times.
The tournament organizing committee comprises the following members.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
The following rules and regulations will govern the matches in the tournament. The captains and the
players are requested to note them carefully and co-operate with the organizing committee.
1.
The tournament is open for the students studying in PU Colleges recognized by the Govt.of
Karnataka .
2.
The students who are studying in PUC by correspondence course or distance education mode
are not eligible to play the tournament.
3.
Not more than one team from a college will be allowed.
4.
All participating teams should bring the cricket balls approved by KSCA for their matches.
5.
The entry fee for tournament is Rs.3000/- ( Rupees Three thousand only ), which can be paid
through cash / cheque / Demand Draft. ( Demand Draft/ Cheque should be drawn in favour of “

Umpire’s decision is final and binding. Protests if any, should be given in writing to the
tournament committee within 6 hours of completion of the match with non-refundable fee of
Rs.500/-.

Players must bring identity cards with photograph duly signed by the Principal valid for the
academic year 2014-15 during match days.
8.
Participating teams should submit the entry form (enclosed herewith) consisting of names of
not more than 15 players (who are bonafide students of their college studying in PUC classes
only) duly signed by the Principal along with attested copy of SSLC or X standard marks sheet
of participating team members for the verification of Date of Birth.
“THE PARTICIPATING PLAYERS MUST NOT HAVE ATTAINED THE AGE OF 19 YEARS WHO
BORN ON OR AFTER 01.01.1996 ONLY ARE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN THE TOURNAMENT”.
The Playing eleven and twelth man should be selected from the submitted list only.

While filling the entry form, care should be taken to avoid any corrections/over writing.
Corrections if any, should be attested by the head of institution. College address, phone
number (land line and mobile ), E mail I D should be clearly mentioned in the entry form.
The teams should be selected from the same institution or college; it should not comprise
students from different sister institutions.
Umpires are empowered to verify the authenticity of players.
The tournament is conducted on Knock-out basis only.
The organizers reserve the right to accept or reject the entry for the tournament. The maximum
number of teams allowed is 30. Entries are received on first come first served basis.
Maximum number of overs per bowler is 1/5th of the total number of overs allotted. In case the
number of overs is reduced, and if total number of allotted overs is not divisible by 5, one
additional over shall be allowed to the maximum number of overs per bowlers necessary to
make up the balance.
The team fielding first should complete the allotted number of 20 overs at the rate of 15 overs
per hour, otherwise penalty runs will be awarded to the opponents.
Penalty runs = 8  Number of overs remaining at the end of scheduled time.
The team batting second will get only those number of overs bowled by the first team with in
stipulated time.
If the match is delayed due to rain or unsuitable playing conditions then the number of overs
per side may be reduced.
If the available time duration does not permit 5 overs per side, then the match will be decided
on the basis of SUPER OVER*.

During the second session of the match if the organizers are forced to reduce the
number of overs due to unforeseen circumstances, the target for the team batting second will
be decided on the basis of the overall run rate conceded by them, the revised target is,
Revised target = ( Revised number of overs )  ( Average run rate ) + 1
In case of tie ( both teams finishing at same score irrespective of number of wickets lost ) , the
winners will be decided based on SUPER OVER*.

Participating teams should report in whites at the venue at least half an hour before the
commencement of the match. If a team fails to report in time the opponent team will be
declared as winners.
Once the ties are drawn and fixtures finalized, no rescheduling will be done..
Player of the tournament (Best bowler, Best batsman, Best all rounder) will be selected on the
basis of performance up to Semi finals only.
Last date for sending the filled in entries is 5th November 2014.
The tournament commences on 17th November 2014.
Once the fixtures for the tournament is ready , it will be sent to participating colleges by post.
Once the fixtures are ready, the matches can’t be rescheduled under any circumstances. The
participating teams are requested to co-operate with the organizers in this regard.
If a player(s) is injured during the course of the match, only First Aid will be provided by the
organizers.
The teams coming from out station are requested to make accommodation facilities on their
own.

*SUPER OVER (One per side eliminator )









In this normal circumstances it shall commence five minutes after conclusion of the match.
It will take place on the same pitch allocated for the match.
Prior to the commencement of super over, each team nominates Three batsman and one
bowler.
The names of the nominated players should be given in writing to the umpires.
The umpires shall stand at the same end as that in which they finished the match.
The umpires shall choose which end to bowl and both teams will bowl from the same end.
The team batting second in the match will bat fist in the Super over.
The same ball (or the ball of similar age of the original ball is out of shape or lost) will be used
for super over.
The loss of two wickets in the over ends the team’s on over innings.


In the event of teams having the same score after super over has been completed, the winners
will be decided on the basis spin of coin. The team that wins the toss will be declared as
Winners.
If super over cannot be played, due to inevitable circumstance like heavy rain or other reasons,
the result of the match shall be decided by the spin of the coin.
