November character of the month is Hospitality. “To have a friend, be a friend.”

Not only are we approaching Thanksgiving and Christmas, but we are also approaching
“The Season of Giving.” In order to get into the spirit, Sunshine Society is asking for
donations to the YES home. The YES home is a group home for children and teens,
and every donations is extremely helpful. Donations can include new or gently used
clothes, socks, and hygiene products such as shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant.
You can place your donations in the bins located outside the cafeteria and the office
starting on November 10th. Donations will be taken until December 5th. Every little bit
helps.
Lifeguarding Classes will be held December 28-31st at South Dearborn high School.
You must be 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session. Must be able to
swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic. Tread water
for 2 minutes using legs only. Swim 20 yards with face in or out of the water, surface
dive to 7-10 feet; retrieve a 10 pound weight. Return to surface and swim 20 yards on
the back to starting point. This must be done within 1 minute and 40 seconds without

Boy's basketball tryouts began on Monday. Sophomores, juniors and seniors will tryout
at 3:30 pm at GMS and freshmen will tryout at 6:00 pm at GMS. You must have a
physical on file in the athletic office to tryout.
Attention LHS students: The Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation Acceptable
Use Policy prohibits the use of software that disrupts or damages system users,
services, or equipment. Students have brought in TOR Browser and it has caused
problems throughout the school corporation. If you have this browser, you are directed
to remove it from your laptop and all USB devices that are used on the school
laptop. We will be monitoring your usage and any student found to be using the TOR
browser, or any other prohibited applications, will receive disciplinary actions starting
with Friday School B. Continued non-compliance of the Acceptable Use Policy will lead
to suspension.
LHS will be taking juniors and seniors on a college visit to Ball State University on
Tuesday, November 18. This visit will include a tour of the campus, a presentation by
the admissions office and interaction with a panel of current BSU students. Seats are
limited to the first 70 students who are signed up with permission slips turned in. Sign
up and permission slips are in the Guidance Office. We will leave the high school at
7:15 and should return by 3:30. Each student will need to have money for his/her
lunch.
Ohio Valley Screenprinters is offering a second round of ordering for our gray and teal
LAUREN HILL t-shirts. If you are interested, we now have a special email/order
address for the shirts. YOU CAN ORDER AT shirtsforthecure@yahoo.com. You MUST
place your order by TOMORROW. Available items: T-shirts, Hoodies, Crew
Sweatshirts: SIZES: Adult....S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL. Youth Sizes: S, M, L.
PRICES: T-shirts: -$10; Hoodies: - $30; Crew Sweatshirts: - $25.Please order through

Sophomore Girls: If you are interested in attending a non-traditional career fair at the
Southeastern Career Center on November 18th, please see Ms. Kirchgassner in the
Guidance Office. Space is limited. It will be during Periods 5-8.
There will be a Spanish Club meeting after school on Monday, November 17 th.
HOOSIER HILLS LITERACY LEAGUE: will be having training at the Aurora Public
Library on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 6-7:30pm. You will learn about
various volunteer opportunities through the Hoosier Hills Literacy League, as well
as the resources and techniques to make your literacy tutoring experience
rewarding and successful.
Homework Help is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays in room 205 until 4:30.
Job Opportunity! Can you create banners for a website using Paint Shop Pro or a
similar program? This is not a full-time job, but an opportunity to do some freelance
work. See Mr. Johnson if you want contact information.
November 13th-8-11 AM ASVAB testing for juniors. The ASVAB Test (Armed Services
Vocational Aptitude Test Battery) is the most widely used aptitude in the world. Student
scores will identify occupations with aptitude for possible future goals. Questions,

Flyers are in the office if you are interested in joining a youth soccer program or
league at Soccer City.
Coach Davis challenges all those not heading to another winter sport to get in
