Bromley Temple Corps Community Care
Community Care
Would you be willing to deliver a blessing to the underprivileged in the
Borough of Bromley? We have a larger number of Christmas Parcels to
deliver this year. Although we have a strong team of deliverers in place,
a few more are required. If you have a car and feel that this is
something you would like to volunteer for, please see Dawn Derham as
soon as possible.
Christmas is Coming!
Bromley Temple Corps
Corps Officers
Lt. Colonels Graham & Kirsten Owen
Associate Officer
Major Gill Johnson
The Christmas Post Box will be available from 23rd November this year.
The last day of posting will be 14th December – to allow time for sorting.
Please remember that cards posted must be for people who attend the
Corps. Donations can be put in the box or handed to Olive Buckley.

Corps Christmas Greetings Board
Bible Sunday
Due to popular demand, the Corps Christmas Card Board will be in the
foyer from the first Sunday in Advent (30th November) and cards will be
available from Bev Hunt and Diane Jones for £5 from the 23rd
November. The money raised will once again go to Care Haven Home in
Cape Town, as they are still in desperate need of funds. The few
Salvation Army centres in South Africa that have managed to stay open
have only been able to because of overseas funding. Last year, between
the Post Box and the Greetings Board, Bromley Corps raised £500 which
meant the Home was able to continue employing a Social Worker on
site.
Christmas Carolling in the High Street:
This year our carolling will be on Saturdays 6th, 13th and 20th
December. There will be three time slots: from 10.30 to 12 noon, from
12 noon to 1.30 p.m. and from 1.30 to 3 p.m. If you are able to help
with collecting, please see Olwyn Holdstock. Thank you so much.
Movember
I am growing a moustache for the month of November, raising money
for Men's health awareness, Prostate cancer and Testicular cancer. This
is known as MOVEMBER. I would be very grateful for any donations you
can spare. In my absence please see Anita, Amy or Kate.

16th November 2014
Welcome to The Salvation Army, Bromley Temple. If this is your first
visit please make yourself known to the Welcome Team.
Today we give a special welcome to Lieutenants Luke & Katy Johnson
and their children – Esther(5) and Reuben(3). After Commissioning last
year, they were appointed to the Team Ministry in Hastings.
Our Meeting this morning will be led by Luke & Katy under the title
‘Love is more important than anything else’ and we will consider
Colossians 3:12-17. At 6pm they will be ‘On the Sofa’ and introduced by
CSM Lynn Nunn.
On your way in this morning you will have been reminded that from
today there is a further ingathering and exchange of the One to Fifty
Boxes. Please speak to Mary Elvin or Martin Swinfen if you require any
further information.
Those who have been asked by the CMS, Ian Payne, to complete the
NCD questionnaire, will receive them today (or they will be posted this
week). Any questions please refer them to Ian.
