Clan labs shut down
Strike Force Brinkley detectives
recently raided two clandestine
laboratories in a Mt Druitt
industrial unit and on a property
in Nabiac, and arrested two men.
Police seized 1kg of a
substance and 287 pills
believed to be MDMA, three
pill-press machines, over 170L
of precursor chemicals, three
400L reaction vessels, 4L of
methylamphetamine oil, 1.3L of
GHB, 50 rounds of ammunition,
steroids, cash, and a small
amount of cannabis.
Two men – a 40-year-old from
Mt Druitt and a 34-year-old
Hawks Nest resident – were
arrested and charged with
a string of commercial drug
manufacturing offences.

Cook said, “Making money –
and a lot of it – is what drives
these groups, and they will do
whatever they can to enhance
their profit margins. If that means
making large quantities of illegal
drugs that have the potential to
destroy lives, then they’ll do it
without an ounce of concern.”

Cabramatta LAC welcomed
members of the local community
last month to gain a more in-depth
understanding of police work.
Participants learned about the
work of crime scene, highway
patrol and region enforcement
squad officers. They also received a

Central Station revealed
To become more familiar with
Central Railway Station, a group
of sergeants from the Police
Transport Command (PTC) took
a guided tour last month.
Matt Rudland from Sydney
Trains showed the PTC officers
and rugby league legend Wayne
Pearce the main control centre
while going over some of the
history of the station.

Australia vs New Zealand
Shout out to world champions,
the Australian Police Rugby
League Team, who are in
Melbourne to play a one-off
test match against the New
Zealand Police.
Before they left, Australian
Team Coach, Supt Craig
Sheridan said his team were
excited to be playing the New
Zealand Police national team as
they did not participate in the
World Cup last year.
“We’re particularly excited to
be playing the ‘curtain raiser’ at
AAMI Park where the Australian
NRL Team will be playing Great
Britain in the Four Nations
Championships after our game.”

The NSW Police Basketball
Club had another successful
Australasian Police Basketball
Championship with two of
our five teams returning from
Cairns with titles.

The women’s division one and
division two teams both won
championships for the second
year in a row. Women’s division
one captain Snr Cst Kellie Wilson
said, “It was an astounding effort
to win back-to-back titles. We had
an exciting and dedicated team.”
The men’s division one
team finished as runner-up,
suffering a narrow loss in their
championship game. The coach
was extremely proud of their
efforts, saying the men had a
stellar week and nearly caused
an upset in the final.
Next year’s tournament will
be held in Darwin. Anyone
interested in competing for NSW
