St. Bernard’s Weekly Beacon News Updates November 14, 2014 Fish Fry-Fish Fry-There will be a Fish Fry taking place at St. Bernard’s on Friday November 21st. Dinner will be served from 5:307:00. We are in need of goodies for the Sweet Shoppe, if you would like to donate a pie, bars, or other goodies please contact the school office for more information. Schwan’s Sales -St. Bernard’s is taking part in the Schwan’s Cares program. This is replacing the Schwan’s truckload sale that has taken place in the past. This campaign allows you to support St. Bernard’s without leaving the comfort of your home, allows you to purchase items as you need them, and track your support for St. Bernard’s with the items you buy. The 45-day campaign runs November 3rd –December 18th, but Schwan’s continues to contribute through November of 2015! Please feel free to create your own campaign page or share the following link with friends and family https://www.schwans-cares.com/campaigns/15461-st-bernards-school-trf Spring Dinner Donations-The Spring Dinner planning committee is looking to gather items for the Spring Dinner scheduled for March 28th. The committee is looking for some bigger ticket items for a live auction at the event. Some examples would be tickets to professional or college games, autographed memorabilia, resort packages, jewelry, services, and framed art pieces. If you have an item you would like to donate, build, or collect for the event please contact the school office. Christmas Blast - St. Bernard’s will be having a Christmas Blast event on December 7 th after mass. This event will consist of a breakfast/brunch, carnival style games, photos with Santa, a sweet shoppe, and a tree decorating. The planning committee is requesting volunteers for the event as well as some item donations. Items needed include; A large tree (live or fake) 10 ft. or taller, a medium tree 6-8 ft., ball style ornaments, photography lights and Christmas backdrop. We will also need some goodies for the sweet shoppe so any cookie, bar, or other goodie donations will also be appreciated! If you are interested in helping please contact the school office. School Reminders COLD WEATHER A reminder that students need to dress appropriately for the weather. Hats, gloves, scarves, warm coats, snow pants and boots need to start coming to school daily. Please prepare your students for the weather to keep them safe and healthy. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM St. Bernard’s School Christmas Program will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014. There will be a Dress Rehearsal at 1:00pm on the 11th with the Performance at 7:00pm. Parents are welcome to bring equipment to record the Dress Rehearsal. We have hired a videographer (DVDs will be $15) and a professional photographer (photos available at no charge) for the evening performance, so we ask that no additional equipment be brought in for recording of the evening performance to insure they and the performers have sufficient room. The Kindergarten and Prekindergarten program will begin the evening, followed by grades 1-5. The doors will open at 6:30pm and seating is first come first served with the exception of the pews purchased at the Spring Dinner last May.
