Paws for Love Foundation Here at my Love Creek cabin, the shelter pets’ paintings are spread out on my framing table – watercolors in soft pastels, or thick and vibrant layers of color.all applied with paws or tails.or the occasional “roll in the paint” technique! As I frame them, I am taken back to the time when I met each artist.gently stroking their fur and learning their stories. These rescued pets have so much to tell us.so much to teach us. From a hopeful wag of a tail, to an optimistic purr, they teach us patience and forgiveness...and hope for their future against all odds. We are incredibly proud to be celebrating our 16th year of shelter pets selling their own art to help other shelter pets. None of it would be possible without our family of volunteers, extraordinary donors, and the support of animal lovers in Sonoma County and beyond. Over the years, we have watched our small one-night art show expand into a much anticipated Valentine destination. We hope you will join us for our “Sweet 16” Paws for Love celebration! Returning will be DJ and Master of Ceremonies Aaron Long, musician Richard Bolmen, and Tarot by Louise. Our popular wine bar will be sponsored by Mutt Lynch, Iron Horse, Pedroncelli, and Kenwood Vineyards. Ulrike Steinke will be creating her masterful and tempting appetizers, passed throughout the evening for your pleasure by our experienced volunteers. Auction donations are arriving daily as our auction coordinators Harry Leonard and Alice Sleeth are preparing the best silent and live auctions we have ever seen! Returning will be some favorites – Giants tickets, the Jackson Hole “Wild West” vacation, romantic local getaways, and a stellar selection of Wine donations, Dinners, and Tasting Experiences. Our cruise raffle will be building anticipation throughout the evening until the moment the winning ticket is drawn! Every ticket sold will benefit our successful “Silver Paws for Love” senior pet adoption program, which is largely funded by this special raffle. Meet some of the artists, who will be on hand to receive your compliments – and maybe a treat! And you won’t want to miss our red carpet parade of “Silver Paws for Love” dogs following the live auction. Last, but not least, our gallery of captivating paintings by shelter pets will remain the “heart” of our Valentine Gala! So grab your sweetheart and plan to attend our 16th Annual Paws for Love Gala – be there when we turn “Sixteen in ’15!” If you missed our event this year, put a paw print on your calendar and join us on Feb. 7th, 2015 8when Paws for Love turns Sweet Sixteen! 1 Thank you FOPPIANO VINEYARDS for hosting “Painting Paws & Petite Sirah!” Happy artist!.this day was all about dogs and their people.and wine! She first came to Have you been accused of having a flair for the dramatic?...well, GOOD! We want you! We are looking for a few outgoing, fun-loving raffle sales people to sell tickets during the night of our Gala. You will receive free admission to one of the best charity events around! And every ticket sold will go toward helping another senior pet move out of the shelter and into a loving home. Are you up to the task??? Just call Jeanine at (707)899-4046 or email Ellyn@pawsforlove.info SNAP Cats in 2006 when she was rescued from a bad situation. Lilly was found in an abandoned home with many other animals. Our vet found three BB pellets in her as well. Lilly was soon adopted, but after 7 years her parents had to surrender her, so now she is looking for a new home. Lilly must be an indoor cat, with her white fur and pink skin she is susceptible to skin cancer from the sun. She has two different colored eyes one green and one blue. And Lilly is deaf. Because she wants to be heard and cannot hear herself, she does have a loud voice. We believe Lilly would like to be an only cat. She was doing fine around our office, but is currently showing some dominant cat signs. Even so, Lilly is such a sweet, sweet girl and just wants to be loved.
