Missing woman is
found in cemetery
A PAKISTANI woman,
who went missing five
days ago, has been found
wandering in a Manama
graveyard.
Mother-of-three Nusrat
Fatima, 32, left her house
in Riffa in the early hours of
Friday.
A missing person’s report
was filed at East Riffa Police Station the same day,
but it was not until yesterday that she was located – in
a cemetery near the Kuwaiti
Building, where her mother
is buried.
It is not known where
Ms Fatima had been since
she went missing as she is
not talking to investigators,
but her sister told the GDN
that she is just glad to see

her alive.
“She had been spotted in
Manama two or three times
but no-one recognised her –
they thought she was out for
a walk or just shopping,” said
the younger sister, who did not
want to be named.
“We told the security guard
at the cemetery to inform us if
he sees her.
“He called us when he spotted her and we went straight
away.
“We thank God that we
found her, but she is not
talking or giving any information.”

A Pakistani man caring the
graves told the GDN that the
woman could have been sleeping in the women’s prayer
room.
“We open the door after
Fajr prayers at dawn and close
at 5pm because it’s dark,” he
said.
“No-one is allowed to stay
inside the cemetery.
“We don’t know if she slept
inside the mosque’s prayer
room and came out in the
mornings, or she just came

“We hope and pray that she
is fine, as her relatives told us
her condition is not well.”
