NEW GARDEN - Pulse Check
In Meeting for Worship this Sunday Bill Eagles, Co-Clerk
of the Transition Team, will lead attenders in filling out
a survey called PulseCheck, which has been widely used
in NCYM-FUM. The questions have been customized to
fit New Garden Meeting. The survey will measure what
we think is important about our Meeting.
The PulseCheck can also be filled out on New
Garden’s website, ngfm.org, from Monday, November
24 through Monday, December 1, midnight. The
Transition Team will hold a number of listening sessions
after the holidays to give members and attenders an
opportunity to talk about what qualities we want in a
permanent pastoral minister.
A Pledge Campaign Update:
Thanks to all who have returned pledge cards for
next year. So far, we have received around 122 pledge
responses and the total amount pledged is around
$172,960. It will help us greatly if we could have all
pledge cards returned by November 24.
Contributions Toward this Year’s Budget
Many thanks to all of you who have contributed
to our budget this year. We are in shouting distance of
our goal ($270,000), but we still have a way to go. We
need a very strong November and December to put us
over the top. Our Meeting depends on you!
This past summer, the Friendship Committee was
formed to sustain the ways New Gardeners get to
know each other socially. Events such as some we’ve
done through the years (Friendly 8’s, Simple Christmas,
Quaker Lake weekends and Memorial Day picnics) have
been suggested for the future.
On Thursday, November 20 at 6:30 p.m. come to the
Friendship Hall to share pizza and discussion around
what social activities we New Gardeners would like to
continue and what we’d like to explore in the coming
year.
Notes from Friends:
Jonathan and Ashley Raper are pleased to share the
news of the birth of their son, Luke David Raper, on
Sunday, November 2.
To the New Garden Community
Thank you so much for the thoughtful gift in recognition
of my time as Religious Education Coordinator. I feel
very much appreciated, and supported in my decision
to try something new! I know that your new RE
Coordinator is gifted and dedicated. Please enjoy getting
to know Karin. I look forward to returning to Meeting
soon and celebrating the holidays with you.
