Millard west daily announcements Tuesday, November 25, 2014 Girls Soccer: ATTENTION SENIORS: School Traditions will be here on Tuesday, December 2nd during all lunch periods for seniors to turn in cap and gown and graduation announcement orders. This will be the last chance to turn in the fall order form. If you miss School Traditions on Dec. 2nd at Millard West, orders will need to be dropped off or mailed to School Traditions. YEARBOOK SALES All girls who intend to play soccer this spring should attend a meeting on Wednesday, 12/3 in room 207 at 3:25. Indoor shirts will be passed out and preseason conditioning will be discussed. Fellowship of Christian Athletes: th Yearbook sales continue through November 26 for $70. After this date, you will no longer be able to reserve your copy of the 2015 Prowler Yearbook. Buy early to guarantee you have a copy. Stop in the Administration Office to pick you an Order Form. FCA will meet at Lindsey Stalheim's house at 8:00 PM this Sunday Nov. 30th. This will be a regular meeting. Talk to any leadership team member or Coach Stauffer if you have any questions. See you Sunday at 8:00. Boys & Girls Track & Field There will be a hygiene drive for Youth Emergency Services now through November 26. Bring in a hygiene product or dollar to the Scratchin' Post to be entered in a raffle contest for a chance to win a Village Inn Pie, Jones Bros Cupcakes, Eileen's Cookies, or the opportunity to throw a pie at Dr. Tiemann's face at one of our home basketball games! Notre Dame is Now Accepting Applications for Summer 2015 Pre-College Programs! 2015 Summer Scholars Program Date: June 27 – July 11, 2015 Summer Scholars is a two-week program for talented rising high school juniors and seniors who are interested in experiencing a taste of college life. Summer Scholars introduces students to college-level academics in fields ranging from the liberal arts to the sciences and business. Summer Scholars courses are rigorous and small in size, and the campus experience serves as an excellent introduction to the life of a college student. For rising high school juniors and seniors. Application deadline: January 30, 2015. 2015 Leadership Seminars Program Date: July 18 – July 29, 2015 Leadership Seminars is a 10-day, all expenses paid program for advanced students who wish to hone their critical thinking and expressive skills in the company of dynamic peers. Students will engage in lively discussions on issues of global concern under the tutelage of Notre Dame faculty. The three seminars offered are American Arts, Popular Culture and Social Change; Global Issues: Towards a Just Peace; and Science, Ethics and Responsibility. For rising high school seniors only. Application deadline: January 23, 2015 The boys and girls track and field meeting has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, November 25th at 3:30 pm in the Lecture Hall. The University of Nebraska’s Peter Kiewit Institute (PKI) is now accepting applications for the Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship. The Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship extended by the PKI. Scholars are chosen from the best and the brightest students who are committed to life-long learning and prepared to contribute to society and the future of technology. The Scott Scholarship covers room and board, student fees, course books, and a laptop computer. When paired with a University of Nebraska at Omaha Regents’ Scholarship, it is considered a full-ride scholarship. Academic Help/Math and Spanish Student Tutors Wednesdays 3:15 - 4:15 in Guidance Office Student tutors will be available in the Guidance Office to help students who need assistance in Alg. I, Geometry, Alg. II and College Prep Math. Spanish tutors available for Spanish I and II. Please report to the Guidance Office immediately after school if you would like to receive help from another student in one of these areas. Project Wee Care is a non-profit, volunteer driven organization that helps local MILLARD families who are going through a tough time by providing them with care packages in December. These care packages include food, clothing and other basic needs the family might have. If enough donations are made to Project Wee Care, the family in need will also receive “wish list” items so that each child in the family receives a holiday gift.
