Aalto University, Otaniemi Campus, Espoo, Finland The OECD “What works” Conference on Entrepreneurship and Higher Education 20-21 November 2014 will be held at Aalto University, Otaniemi Campus, city of Espoo, Finland. More information on the route available from: http://linjakartta.reittiopas.fi/en/index.php#?x=2547264.3124618&y=6674557.5&mapview=map&zoom=3 The buses from Helsinki to Espoo (Otaniemi direction) leave from the Kamppi bus terminal. The bus terminal is inside the Kamppi shopping centre (on E-level). Bus 103 departs usually from platform 42. Travel time is between 15-25 mins depending on the traffic, the 103T takes slightly longer. Timetable for bus 103 in the mornings is as follows: 7:53, 8:06, 8:15. A single ticket costs €5.00, please have exact change or small bills. The bus stop closest to the conference venue Open Innovation House / TUAS-building is called Konemies (E2217). You can ask the driver to alert you when you approach the stop. Once you get off the bus, stay on the same side of Otaniementie and walk approximately 400meters ahead. By taxi: A taxi from Helsinki takes about 15-20 minutes and costs approximately 30 EUR. Taxis can be taken from the railway station, from numerous taxi ranks in city centre or booked via e.g. hotel reception. HOW TO GET TO & FROM HELSINKI AIRPORT TO AALTO UNIVERSITY, OTANIEMI CAMPUS, ESPOO By Taxi: By Yellow Line Airport taxi (shuttle taxi): Yellow Line’s desk is at the arrival hall. The cost to Otaniemi campus is 29,50 EUR for 1-2 persons. (Please note that the shuttle taxi may take a longer time to reach the destination as you might share the taxi with other people going to the same direction.) By normal taxi: Taxi stand is outside the main entrance of the arrival hall. The cost to Otaniemi campus is approximately 50 EUR. Trip takes about 30 mins. Taxis accept card payment. HOW TO GET TO & FROM HELSINKI AIRPORT TO THE CITY CENTRE OF HELSINKI By bus (Finnair Bus or bus nro 615): AIRPORT TO CITY (Helsinki central railway station) • Departure Location: Outside the arrival hall • Timetable: every 20 minutes (trip takes about 30 mins) • Tickets: 6,30 EUR (Finnair bus) / 5,00 EUR (bus 615) HELSINKI CITY TO AIRPORT • Departure Location: Helsinki central railway station (Elielinaukio square) • Timetable: every 20 minutes • Ticket:6,30EUR By taxi: By Yellow Line Airport taxi (shuttle taxi): Yellow Line’s desk is at the arrival hall. MEALS Thursday 20 Nov – Aalto University offers coffees and lunch at the conference venue. Friday 21 Nov – Morning coffee offered at conference venue by Aalto University. Lunch at participants’ own expense. A restaurant can be found at the conference venue TUAS-building Fazer canteen (entry from main lobby). Other options: Open Innovation House – OIH Café serves salad and soup lunches T-building Canteen – serves warm meals and salads WEATHER Winter is approaching and the temperatures are currently between +5 and -5 degrees Celsius. A thick overcoat, a scarf and gloves are recommended. MISCELLANEOUS A wifi connection Aalto open will be made available for you during your stay on Aalto University campus.
