ADVENT STUDY FOR ADULT/YOUTH COMBINED SUNDAY SCHOOL For five weeks, starting on Sunday November 30 through Sunday December 28, we will be having an Adult/Youth Combined Sunday School Advent Study called “Not a Silent Night” by Adam Hamilton. We will start with a Coffee Time with light refreshments at 9:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall and then start the lesson at 10:00 a.m. This advent study features a video of Rev. Adam Hamilton teaching followed by class discussion. It is not necessary for you to purchase and read the book to enjoy the class but we want to make it available to those who do like to read and come prepared. For those who ordered a book, the cost is $11.00 which can be paid and picked up this Sunday, November 23 in the Church Office. Melissa who was the Youth Director at First UMC for several years, continues to be a vital part of the VBS program and is now working for Laurens District 55 after spending time as a French Teacher. A graduate of Salem University and UNC Chapel Hill, she enjoys reading, walking and playing bridge. Spike is the Director of International Sales for Anderson Hardwood Floors. He is a Veteran having served in the Air Force with a tour in Vietnam. He attended American University. In his free time Spike enjoys playing golf, walking and family time. They have lived in Laurens since 1988 and attend Sunday school and serve the church as needed.
