Show site is on the right just as you enter town. BEGINNER PUPPIES (4-6 MONTHS OF AGE) (Event No. 2015003603) AKC Sanctioned Beginner Puppy Competition Judge: Mrs. Alma M. Metz The American Kennel Cub has designed the Beginner Puppy Special Attraction to be an opportunity for puppies to interact with people and other dogs under a puppy friendly judge and show ring. New pure-bred puppy owners are encouraged to enter to explore competing in AKC events. One combined class, not divided by sex, will be offered for each Variety (Smooth and Rough) that are four (4) months and under six (6) months of age. There will be a selection of Best Beginner Puppy and Best of Opposite Sex for each Variety. There will be competition for Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in addition to the Best of Variety and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Variety. An AKC registration number or litter number will be required for entry. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. -4- Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judge. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4-6 month Puppy Special Attraction event. Professional Handlers are not allowed to exhibit in this competition. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs to or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. Entry fee: $12.00 (including AKC recording fee of $2.00 for each dog). These fees are paid to the American Kennel Club). TIME: Judging starts Friday, January 2, 2015, after Best of Breed for Show #1. ENTRIES: PRE-ENTRIES CLOSE WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2014 AT 6:00 P.M. AT THE SHOW SECRETARY’S OFFICE (online or mailed). • • • • • • • • • • ATTENTION EXHIBITORS GENERAL During site preparation, only Nolan River Kennel Club members and vendors will be allowed to enter the buildings. Exhibitors will be allowed in at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015, or as soon as the site is ready. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best in Show judging on Sunday, January 4, 2015. NO PROPANE HEATERS ALLOWED! Nolan River Kennel Club Show Committee reserves the right to restrict the use of electric heaters. Nolan River Kennel Club is attempting to reserve crating stalls for all Specialty Clubs. The stalls are located at the corner of the small arena. These will be on a first-come, first-served basis so make your reservations early. Be sure to inform Bruce that you are with one of the Specialty Clubs. There is a copy of the crating reservation form at the Nolan River Kennel Club website – www.nolanriverkc.com You may now enter this show on line using PayPal. To submit your on-line entry(ies), go to www.bleakneyshowservices.com and click on “Enter A Show.” That will take you directly to Margaret Bleakney’s PayPal account. You do not have to have an account of your own –you pay on her account as a guest. Although there is an official AKC form on the website, you may wish to go to the AKC website and use the fillable PDF entry form that is available there. You may then either submit it as an attachment to an e-mail or fax it to 254-237-2158. There will be a very limited amount of space for private x-pens IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. These areas may or may not be under roof. All will be open air and not climate controlled. No private sawdust may be brought in. Sawdust must be purchased from the Expo Center and is available at $8.00 per bag. See Grooming and Grounds Chairman. No crating, x-pens, grooming, or exercising dogs on nursing home property across Gibbs Blvd and along sides of roadways. No crating or grooming on show floor. Crating must be in designated areas. Identification labels will be available from the Superintendent’s office. Each crate should be labeled for identification in case of emergencies. -5- • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • No dogs on any stairs or in elevators. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. Dogs allowed in rings during judging only. No strollers allowed in either show arena. All children must be accompanied by an adult Loading and unloading at the north and west entrances in designated areas only ALL CRATES, INCLUDING WIRE CRATES, MUST BE STACKED. The Show Committee reserves the right to stack or rearrange equipment as necessary and to remove equipment or crates left in undesignated areas. Saving of space by roped off areas, empty crates or other means are not allowed in grooming areas. Please be considerate of other exhibitors and use only the space needed. NRKC reserves the right to remove any animal in distress from a parked vehicle or crate any way necessary. NRKC solely determines if said animal is in distress. All persons attending this dog show hereby waive any claim for damages against the Club for such removal. Concession stands will be open for breakfast and lunch. The Club reserves the right to cancel shows due to foul weather. The show-giving club is not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors at this show. The Club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS. There will be no refund for duplicate entries. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs allowed in rings during judging only. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the Club nor its Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, stolen and/or misplaced checks will not be replaced. Checks are valid for 90 days. The Show Secretary is not able to cash checks. RETURNED CHECKS/INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paid in guaranteed funds. Checks will not be accepted. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entry fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name.
