HR Services: Preschools and Schools Update 5 2014 TO: PRINCIPALS, PRESCHOOL DIRECTORS, BUSINESS MANAGERS KEY MESSAGES: • HR Services will be closed from 25/12/14 to 5/1/15. • As at the beginning of the 2015 school year all teachers MUST have current teacher registration. • All non-teaching staff MUST have a current CHS BEFORE they commence employment in a school or preschool. Contents: • PREPARING FOR TERM 1 2015 • INCOMING PAPERWORK TO HR FROM SITES • LODGING VACANCIES OR CHANGES TO VACANCIES IN TIME • LATE LODGEMENTS OF VSP ENTRIES/CONTRACT PAPERWORK PREPARING FOR TERM 1 2015 At the end of a school term, there is often an influx of vacancy paperwork/VSP entries from sites for alterations to vacancies for the School Term that has just finished. Please submit these as soon as possible. As another term draws to a close, there are a number of ways that you can help us to help you. INCOMING PAPERWORK TO HR FROM SITES Please ensure that you check for accuracy any paperwork you fax to 8124 1493, so that HR can track incoming paperwork and process quickly. Priority is given to correct paperwork and follow up questions with sites are actioned once all correct paperwork is processed. LODGING VACANCIES OR CHANGES TO VACANCIES IN TIME Every effort will be made by HR to process the lodgement of vacancies or changes to vacancies provided they are received in a timely manner. Pay cut off for the first pay for Term 1 on 30/01/2014 is FRIDAY 17th January 2014 LATE LODGEMENTS OF VSP ENTRIES/CONTRACT PAPERWORK Whilst every effort will be made to process all submitted VSP entries/vacancy paperwork received, delays can be expected in processing late lodgements as HR’s first priority will be to process all VSP entries paperwork for Term 1 2015 in readiness for the start of the New Year. Please take special care to ensure that the vacancy details are absolutely correct to expedite processing by close off dates specified. You can ensure accuracy by carefully • • • WHAT TO DO IF PAPERWORK HAS NOT BEEN PROCESSED CHRISTMAS LEAVE LOADING PAYMENT WEEK 10 TERM 4 TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT comparing the new paperwork with the previous records kept on site and it may also be helpful to have the paperwork proofread by others before you send them in. WHAT TO DO IF PAPERWORK HAS NOT BEEN PROCESSED Unless requested, please do not resend paperwork or resubmit vacancies as this can result in duplication of hours. Please telephone us on 8226 1356 (press 2 as this relates to the appointment of an employee) and provide us with the day and approximate time that the vacancy was sent. In the majority of cases the ability to track the paperwork will be straightforward and can then be escalated based on this information. CHRISTMAS LEAVE LOADING PAYMENT The Christmas Leave Loading is paid in the last pay before Christmas, which means that eligible employees will receive their leave loading in the pay of 18/12/2014. WEEK 10 TERM 4 TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT If an eligible employee claiming Training and Development’s appointment finishes at the end of week 9 they are required to complete and submit a VL623c claim form signed by their site leader to Shared Services Payroll – payroll05documentation@sharedservices.sa.gov.au Thank you for your support and enjoy your well-deserved break.
