Rod Contact Elvis Pedro Ronnie Russell 778-0520 Central High Jazz Band Jazz Vespers ‘ Elvis Pedro, Guitar a native Crucian with a lifelong interest in music and art. His pursuit of guitar mastery began in 1975 and was inspired by Wes Montgomery, George Benson, and later , Fred Thomas nd Devin Carrington. He continues every day through listening, studying, and practice. Elvis has played with Jimmy Owens, George Benson, Najee, The Drifters, Sister Sledge, Mighty Sparrow, Lord Kitchener, Shadow, Bunny Wailer, Lillias White, and WWS Ensemble. A retired Marshall, he performed throughout the World with National Guard 73rd Army Band . Kevre Hendricks, Trumpet, Fllugelhorn:;Son of St. Croix’s Winona and Lawrence Hendricks, he picked the trumpet at age 13 and by graduation from St.Croix Ed. Complex (SCEC) knew he would (and did earn) a BA, Music Education. Now a Staff Sergeant in the National Guard Army Band, he was Band Director at Arthur Richards School before accepting the position of Band Director at his alma mater. Kevre has played with the VING 73rd Army Band, Santa Cruz Brass, Elvis Pedro Jazz Group, Express Band. He also co-manages the Road March Champions and 3 time Band-o-Rama Champions “The Fusion Band”. Kevre performed with world class musicians including John Fadis, Steve Turre, Mighty Sparrow, Mighty Baron, King Short Shirt, Tito Puente Jr. Singing Sandra, Crazy, Ellis Marsalis, Dion Parson.. MarioThomas,Bass Mario’s dad, acclaimed Saxophonist Scypio Thomas was the early influence that prompted his sojourn into the art of the Bass at age 10. Playing Calypso, reggae, and whatever was popular at the time, he formed his “Together Root: band in 9th grade. After studying music at the Military School of Music and Howard University he toured with Howard’s septet, gigged with John Fadis, Louie Belson, and Wynton Marsalis, and was a mainstay in saxman Dave Yarborough’s Jazz Band. He formed RHYTHMIX in 1990 and has been heard at Buccaneer and posh events for Judges and such. Music concerts at Woodson Jr High School are an exceptional event because of his excellence as a band director, music instructor. Jeremey Jagrup, Drums: Born and raised on St Croix.. He is a graduate of St Croix Education Complex where he played in the jazz ensemble and concert band. He now plays with a number of bands in St Croix JAZZ VESPERS Welcome……… Rev.
