From the Desk of Dean G. De Vries Bock (ELCSA-COD Western Cape Circuit) 18 December 2014 To All Lutherans in the Western Cape! The year 2014 has gone. The time to say THANK YOU has arrived. It seems little and inadequate to simply say THANK YOU for the part you have played. On behalf of the Western Cape Circuit Council, all its Pastors it is indeed a pleasure to express our gratitude through this communiqué. Allow me to acknowledge a few of many wonderful things for which we are particularly grateful for: • For your co-operation and willingness whenever called upon. • For the continuous support when it comes to Circuit Events. • For donations, in cash or kind, given so generously. • For the patience exercised when things didn’t turned out the way as planned. • For sacrificing valuable time to attend meetings and honouring the Circuit year plan. • For your dedication, thoughtfulness and Prayers. • For your willingness to always walk the extra mile. We could only afford to do this, because “For a child is born to us, son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity.” (Isaiah 9: 6-7) May all of you experience anew the Immanuel presence this festive season and like the Wise men from the East – Bow down, Worship and Adore Him. For He Alone Is Worthy, He Alone Is Faithful, He Alone Is the Same, Yesterday, Today and Forever. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year! And as we move from the Old into the New, from the Known into the Unknown, from darkness into His marvellous Light, I want to call upon you: “Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.” Rom 15:7 Rev G.
