SONG OF THE WEEK
Thou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Splendor
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendour,
All for love's sake becamest poor;
Thrones for a manger didst surrender,
Sapphire-paved courts for stable floor.
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendour,
All for love's sake becamest poor.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love's sake becamest man;
Stooping so low, but sinners raising
Heavenwards by thine eternal plan.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love's sake becamest man.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Saviour and King, we worship thee.
Emmanuel, within us dwelling,
Make us what thou wouldst have us be.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Saviour and King, we worship thee.

Dear Families and Supporters of Heritage Christian School,
At the special meeting of fundraisers on December 19, 2014 we voted on the proposal brought to us by Platinum Bid Auctions
to the join forces with our sister schools in running SmartShop. Smartshop is an online and actual store (located at 708
O’Malley Dr. Coopersville MI 49404) that sells Large Warehouse products that have been returned and overstocks. These
products are then sold at a discounted price to the general public with 70% of the profits benefiting our schools. Hope School
has been a part of this exciting opportunity for the past few months and has had great success!! Adams Christian will be joining
in on this fundraiser in January with the possibility of Covenant and Eastside teaming up as well.
We are very excited about this opportunity and believe this fundraiser will be extremely beneficial to our school. This is an ongoing fundraiser that we will be required to staff on the 3 rd week of each month all year. We will need 10-15 volunteers each
day and the hours are Monday-Friday 9am-2pm and Saturday 8am-12pm. This means that the more volunteers we get the less
of a time burden it will be on each family. We have 215 families at Heritage this year and need approximately 90 volunteers on
our week. If we receive 100% participation from our supporters, each family will only have to work one shift every other
month. (But you are welcome to work more!!) No experience is necessary and training will be provided on the job (takes about
15 minutes). Dads, Moms, Grandparents and High School Junior and Seniors (rack up those volunteer hours for college
applications) can volunteer their time.
We have set up an online scheduling program that allows you to pick the day that works best for you. The website is
signupgenius.com. On their homepage you will click on the “Find a Signup” tab on the top right hand corner of the page. You
will then enter in the email address hcssmartshop@yahoo.com in the appropriate space. This will take you to the schedule for
Heritage where you can pick your shift. A reminder will be emailed/texted to you 3 days before your scheduled shift.
Below is a list of the jobs that are available. Please read carefully before you sign up.
Lister- Volunteers are responsible for listing items to the online store, updating quantities/inventory, monitor website for bad
pictures/descriptions. We need detail oriented people who can operate and iPad for this job.
Cashiers- this job is only on Tues, Thurs and Saturday’s. Volunteers must be willing to operate a cash register.
Sorters-Volunteers are responsible for sorting merchandise as it comes in, empty bins and place merchandise in proper areas,
determine prices for unmarked merchandise, determine what items will be clearance, keep areas clean and items neat.
Pullers- Volunteers will be responsible for pulling online orders as they come in, arrange shipping options if available,
communicate with buyers on any refunds.
There are many more details to be worked out and many more decisions to be made regarding this fundraiser. We will be
sending more information home after the Christmas holiday. We are working as quickly as possible to pull this together in 2
weeks and we ask your patience and support as we get this fundraiser off the ground. The funds from SmartShop will be
helpful in the move to our new school building as well as keeping the costs of tuition down.
If you have any questions regarding the SmartShop Fundraiser, please contact any of the committee members listed below. As
well, you can contact us via email at hcssmartshop@yahoo.com.
We appreciate your continued support and prayers as we continue to financially assist HCS.
