REQUEST TO DEFER ADMISSION TO A FUTURE TERM
2015- 2016 ACADEMIC YEAR
TERMS
 Deferrals are allowed to give the student an opportunity to participate in a program, activity, or experience designed to enrich the student. Please note that not all requests will be granted.
 You may not attend another university or participate in a program that awards college credit of any kind
during the period of deferral. We may make exceptions on a case by case basis only. If you wish to
have any credit received during the deferral period transferred to Tulane, you must reapply as a Transfer student.
 Scholarships and financial aid awarded for the original enrollment term are not guaranteed for future
term enrollment.
 You may only elect to defer enrollment up to one year from the academic term of the original offer of
admission.
 Once your request is approved, you will be committed to Tulane and may not apply for admission to
any other institution. You will not have to resubmit your application to Tulane for the future term, but you
will have to resubmit your FAFSA and CSS Profile to be considered for financial aid for the future term.

INSTRUCTIONS
To receive consideration for deferral to a future term, please submit the following:
1. Completed Request to Defer Admission to a Future Term Form – please type directly into the
form and submit via email; mailed or faxed hard copies cannot be accepted
2. $500 commitment and housing deposit through the Admitted Student Website submitted by May 1
(must be received before submitting the deferral form)
3. Additional $700 deposit for future term (non-refundable after May 1); please make the check payable to
“The Tulane Educational Fund”
